Expressive Digital Painting in Procreate: Learn to draw and paint stunningly beautiful, expressive illustrations on iPad

I've ready just the sample of the kindle edition, and have already learned a ton! I'm completely new to digital art and procreate, so your mileage may vary, but I'm impressed by the digestible, well-written information and generous illustrations throughout. Just paid for the full version, will update if my review changes.

Very good book to learn digital painting and drawing. Beautiful illustrations, QR links to YouTube and other learning materials.I highly recommend this book.

Clear, concise, with lots of helpful pictures and exercises. Easy way to learn the major features!! I worked my way thru it in a couple of evenings.

Do not buy!Just a couple of his on drawing with no explanation on brushes used or techniques. Much better information on You Tube. Text is little if any explaining how to use Procreate.Presentation on perspective drawing is childish.More links to his website, than on using Procreate.

There are many “complete” guides to using Procreate. Many I have looked at are not worth buying. This book stands out for clarity and depth in explaining the use of, and theory behind, every tool in the program interface. Most useful are the many illustrations showing the effects of applying tools by before and after pictures. Text is very clear (with humorous asides) and there are several step by step tutorials. The author’s painting style is loose and colourful and, as the book title says, expressive! I bought the Kindle version but a hard copy will be on my bookshelf very soon. Top marks to Shirish!

I recently purchased an iPad Pro with apple pencil and wanted to dig deep into Procreate. And this book delivered on all fronts. I bought this in digital version, pre sale and it only cost me £4,49. Which was excellent value. Shirish explains everything clearly and by the time I had finished the book I was much wiser and completing better artworks.I can't praise this guy enough.
