I know this is not a 'culinary' review of this product as I bought it for a different purpose. But I'm am pleasantly surprised that it actually helped. I'm referring to the feral cats in our neighborhood. Sadly, since Helene, there have been a lot of abandoned kitties running around who are not friendly enough to socialize unfortunately. Our indoor kitties are targets at any open window over night where we'll wake to the smell of cat urine outside the next day as well as driving our indoor kitties nuts over night. I can't blame the outdoor cats and don't want to hurt them, but by putting this pepper powder around the fence line and under the windows, it has successfully kept them away. So, if you're not into the culinary benefits of this powdered pepper but are having an issue with critters, I would recommend giving it a try.

Works well on keeping coons away... And if the wind blows it back into your face it feels like pepper spraying yourself.... Lesson learned... almost. You don't want to know how many times I miscalculated the wind. But a breeze is effective in spreading the heat. It's hot enough to make your skin tingle and burn, but the eyes... Oof, that needs immediate washing. So, yeah, I think this product brings enough heat. Never used it in the kitchen though. Good value per ounce. Like the plastic jug. No water has gotten into it even when I left it in the garden (overnight rain). Bought a second one for this summer...Expecting some stubborn wildlife. So they are going to enter the dragon. I'm dousing everything.

This has become my favorite garden/yard pest deterrent! I don’t like chemicals or anything toxic, prefer natural solutions. It has a very high heat index so I have to be careful - will burn my nostrils, make me cough if I’m not careful pouring it out! Always wash my hands after handling it too. I’ve tried Everything to get rid of chipmunks and this is the only product that keeps them away (& digging up all my plants). Bonus - cayenne pepper is safe for all my plants and flowers as well, it doesn’t hurt them, which I really like. Definitely recommend this cayenne pepper brand - for yard pests (can’t speak for culinary uses) you won’t regret it!

Pepper worked perfectly. Kept wild animals out of my backyard. Smell is awful, just what we needed. Half of the pepper spilled. The product got rid of my possum problem.

good spice and size for the price

Recommend eye protection if you are sprinkling this over your vehicle engine, especially if there is a breeze! Surely this will work to repel rodents. Had to feel my way to the house to flush my eyes. :-)

I bought this to use in my backyard on my lawn. My puppy loves to dig and I struggled to train her to stop digging. Finally I decided to try using this. I shake it into the holes that she dug and she leaves it alone. The directions say to apply daily, however, I only apply after rain or after the sprinklers are done. It works great and I highly recommend it!

Powder is very fine, so wear goggles if spreading in garden. Nice big container. No leakage into packing box, but just enough dust to make me sneeze upon opening.
