When the package first arrived, I just assumed that there had been a mistake in the shipping. No pair of pants could weigh as little as a thin paperback book. But they really are that lightweight! These pants would be perfect for summer hiking or bicycle touring or other situations where the weather is warm, weight is an issue, and ticks are a concern. The fabric is gossamer-thin and the whole article weighs 200g (less than the combined weights of the keyrings I carry in my pocket each day). There's ventilation mesh on the inner side of the legs, so I assume that the pants have no insulation value at all, but most people don't worry about ticks in the wintertime. I bought the pants because I'm clearing invasive weeds out of a woodland and I'd already come home twice to find ticks on my legs (when I was wearing jeans). Since I started wearing these (and some treated socks) I haven't found a single tick. And the pants are very comfortable! I'm very pleased with the purchase.

The pants are fine, but they run a bit large. I've worn them several times in a yard with chiggers and haven't been bitten. I recommend spraying the waistband and cuffs with deet anyway. Very cool with mesh inserts on inner thighs, and super lightweight.

These are exceptionally comfortable and wearable slacks. The permethrin treatment really makes a difference outdoors. Working outdoors in an area with lots of ticks, these effectively prevent bites, especially when worn with Insect Shield socks or gaiters and similarly treated shirts. Have been wearing these for a couple of years now and they are still effective. I wash on gentle cycle with mild soap and hang to dry. This fabric dries very quickly. No fabric softener used to protect Insect Shield treatment. Not needed anyway. These pants are easy to wear.

These are my new favorite summer pants. Could use a few more pockets, but the lightweight and mesh ventilation is great. Snaps on the bottom hold a roll or two up

Fit well, light weight. Can roll up cuffs. I love ExOfficio products--usually quite expensive. Excellent value for the money.

I wanted a light pant for Summer as a bug shield. These fit the bill, but beware the cuff is a big. I'd rather a tighter cuff at the ankle with a zippered expansion/opening if the intent is to be able to pull them on and off while still wearing shoes/boots.

I was happily surprised with how thin yet disable the material was. Great for men and women. I will be wearing these for all my summer hiking adventures!
