I do not normally write reviews good or bad but for this one I will. I first had qualms about the hoops due to some of the negative reviews. Those few people have their head in a dark place. I have used hoops for years!These fit, are very easy to tighten (I have had many surgeries on my hands), and hold the fabric snugly. I am pitching my old hoops.You will enjoy these hoops

These hoops are a great value.

The hoops don’t loosen up while I’m cross stitching, while other hoops I’ve used have. The hoops are smooth and I don’t fear I’ll get a sliver.

These worked great for my projects.

I would not use these while working on a craft - there is enough gapage to drive you nuts because you would constantly be adjusting tension. But, I did not purchase them for that purpose. I have my favorite embroidery hoop that I use while working on a piece. I wanted these to use for my finished items. I wrapped them in ribbon and/or painted them. Perfect! They are all the same size and have the old style closure that I wanted. Great for crafts like punch needle, embroidery, cross stitch, crochet, etc. Simple basic decorative hoops.

I do machine embroidery and found a new technique. Embroidery is done on organza and then placed in a hoop for hanging in a window. Some designs have two parts - a feature mounted in one hoop and a background in a second hoop, and hoops are glued together to make a 3-D image. These are fun and pretty easy and are nice for gifting, Note: This does not replace the hoop for your embroidery machine. This could be used for hand embroidery or as a frame/display for your embroidered project.

Not as sturdy and doesn’t close fully on the sides, there’s tiny gaping. But it’s good for the money you spend!

Boule de noel

The quality of the wood is somewhat poor and dry so it’s misshapen. It’s possible that steaming the wood and adding something to give it some moisture might make it more flexible and a better circle. The dry wood splinters and frays around the outside! A bummer :(

I think they are ok but there are spaces between the hoops. I have also had a few splinters in my fingers and I have only used 2 so far.The price was ok but I have purchased better quality hoops for the same price on sale.
