Works but could be better
It works well and gets the job done. The wheel isn't flat so certain parts of the grinding wheel doesn't contact the ring. So it takes longer to get the job done and the cut might not be as even as you wanted it to be.

It works fine.
The wheel may be a bit wobbly but it cut straight for me.

Wheel too thick
The wheel is wobbly, and it is too thick ,therefore it doesn't grind the ring end even , if you play around a bit you can get it right, but it's a bit sketchy

Grinds piston rings well
Like all cheep tools it has its quirks. the wheel has side to side movements when free floating but its not like your doing rocket surgery your filing a piston ring and pressure must be applied evenly on both side to get a true (ish) parallel material remove the dowels aid in the application of even force distribution in the two ends of the ring and the grinding wheel rotation is was smooth and straight so long as the operator is doing there part of the task it took about 200 rotations for me to get the proper .019992 feeler gap my ring requires each. If u like not paying alot of money for a tool u will probably only be using one time or once a year this is a good option watch my video if u have doubts or stop browsing any buy it it works and is better then a file in a vise

Works With Modification
The spacer that puts pressure on the grinding wheel was cut crooked and was causing the wheel to wobble causing inconsistent grinding. I had to throw the spacer on a lathe. It can be done other ways but using a lathe was easier and faster for my situation.
