i've never tried buffs before- but i live in El Paso which has some pretty nasty wind storms complete with sand. I looked for a runners review, but didn't see any. I've worn these out on evey one of my runs since they showed up and i LOVE them! I can't believe I never tried them before, having something over my face was a little claustraphobic for me in the beginning, but after i figured out how to pull it up so that it doesn't slip and cover my eyes, i had no problem. it keeps the sand out and wind from chaffing my face. EXACTLY what i wanted!the material was not as soft as i had hoped, but it's also not too hot when it's warm, i can wear it when it's windy but warm. i like it. for the price it's great--i haven't had to wash any of them yet, so i don't have any input on that. but i got a full package and have used a different one each day for my workouts. i love the different prints!
