Helps with heat
The film helps with heat on a south facing window (House is in North Texas). Not so easy to install on a rather large window. You need an extra pair of hands for holding and spraying and pulling off the clear contact film. Try watching a couple of YouTube videos. Don’t do outside install with any wind. Even better to install on a cloudy day.

We'll see if it lasts
Does exactly what it's supposed to do: really, does a good job of blocking heat (remember, this installs on the outside of the window) from entering the house with minimal blocking of light. Also, kind of nice, it comes with a very sharp box cutter, you don't need to screw around with a dull utility knife you have laying around.Cons: - Very difficult (on a large window) to install without bubbles. I put this on a pretty large window, 9ft wide and 6 ft tall, and I have some bubbles on every section (admittedly I'm not very good at installing window film, and these were 4-6 feet lengths). The good part is the bubbles are not seriously obvious after installation, like with some window films, but the results is some "blurring" of the view through that part of the window. I would not install this on a large window that I wanted to preserve a great view through. - Just about impossible to install on a large window by yourself, this film is just too thin and goes all over the place in any kind of breeze. - I've already got one corner that's lifted about an inch, I don't really know how long it will last.Remember, spray the window with lots of soapy water and the surface of the film with lots of soapy water, and when you think you have enough, spray more: there needs to be enough that the film will slide around so you can position it. Also, don't even try to install this on a hot day in direct sunlight: the soapy water on the window will evaporate so quickly while you are trying to get the film onto the window that it will just stick and be a major pain.

This stuff is incredible
First off I want to start off my review stating that I tried several different window films. I finally swapped over to this one because it had the reflective material that I really wanted to actually reflect away the energy instead of absorbing it, and it is used for the exterior. Let me elaborate a bit on this. I initially tried Gala products that were also all reflective. I tried their privacy and heat control stuff. The problem with those is that they get extremely hot on the INSIDE of the window. That is so ridiculous because all that does is radiate heat still slowly into the room. I saw zero to maybe barely any temperature drop when using that product. That changed dramatically when I tried this stuff. This stuff goes on the exterior and will ALSO heat up a bit, however this stuff is on the outside glass so the wind will carry away some of the heat and the heat will radiate back OUTSIDE of the house. This stuff is so shiny, that as the sun sets I can see casts of light shooting across my lawn that moves along with the sun. That is point one, is that is proof that it is reflecting a lot of the energy elsewhere, preventing that energy from entering the room. The interior stuff also did this but it certainly did not have as much of a reflection as this stuff, and the energy would still get absorbed into the panes of glass as the energy kept passing through the glass. Physically, this stuff works. *Some* of it has started peeling a bit at the bottom of the windows but the windows were atrociously dirty and although I tried my best to clean them, there seemed to be enough debris to allow it to lift a little. No worries, the other parts still have enough of a strong adhesive that it is still sticking so far. I live in very windy Rhode Island too, near the coast! I have already invested in 3 rolls of the 36"x14'. I just keep coming back for more when I come home to a warmer house, knowing that I could further cool it off from the summer rays.A few points before you jump in on this. It is difficult to apply, especially to large windows. I pretty much became a professional after doing it so much with several rolls even from different companies. Just clean the window thoroughly. I use car care products and even used some of my clay bars meant for my car on the windows before putting the film on to try to make sure it was really clean. Use tons and tons of soapy water too, spray it everywhere as you slowly peel the clear plastic off the film. Another note is this stuff has dropped the temperature by maybe 3-5 degrees at most. I ONLY have it on my west windows since that was the problem area for me and I think I could get a further drop if I did it on my east windows. Your results will obviously vary depending on window size and where your problem areas are. Don't expect this stuff to replace air conditioning.

Good enough for my use case
I live in the garden level apartment in a nyc brownstone and I wanted more privacy during the day so that people walking by can’t look right in when I have the blinds open. This is doing the job! I feel much more comfortable having the blinds open during the day.Note: the window I have this on is north facing, so the sun is not really directly hitting the window to make it 100% mirror effect but you can still see through it a teeny bit if you’re really trying to look through my window, but at first glance during a sunny day it just looks like a reflection.

As advertised
Follow the instructions and use LOTS of soapy solution and take your time. That said, I used this on the outside of my giant patio slider, where I also have film on the interior (same brand, different type.) I cut the piece in half horizontally to make it easier to install by myself. Having previously installed film on the interior, this install went well mainly because I used WAY more soapy solution than I had in the past and continued to use the soap while I squeeged out the minimal bubbling and it worked well. The view looking out is not at all impeded and this film has really helped keep the summer heat out of the room.

Quality Film, But Not As Expected
This film is of very high quality and after fully drying on the exterior of the glass, it came out flawless. The only thing that was disappointing to me was that I did not realize that the darkness level of the tint has a direct effect on the transparency of the mirrored finish. I thought a mirror was a mirror and would be 100% reflective. I purchased the EXS35 and even during midday, you can see inside the window from the outside. The mirrored effect is really not any more of a mirrored finish that a clean and shiny glass window. That was kind of disappointing as I was looking for a tint that was not as dark as 5%, but I did not realize that the mirrored finish or privacy level would also be affected.

easy install
Needed a exterior film for a old garage window with bad seals to stop moisture between the glass so far looks good.

Easy five stars.
Very happy with the improvement this tint made to my space. You will definitely notice a difference. Do not install on a windy day or on a hot day in sunshine. Even when spraying tons of soapy water on the window and tint, the hot sun kept drying it up. I’ll be installing more of this but will do it when the sun is going down. Easy five stars even tho it is a bit tricky to install when alone.
