Fits perfectly. Better than the one with finger groves . Allows a higher hold with out the groves. You have to think about hand placement with the groves.This is a grad and go . Will buy again when I wear out this one and I am going to try. 😊

I love my Smith & Wesson revolver; and the stock rubber grips that came with the gun were excellent. But they had finger grooves and, with my smaller hands, they were too bulky.These Hogue grips, on the other hand, have an open back strap and no finger grooves. These features make it easier to hold high on the grip and reach the trigger -- which comes in handy on a heavier L-frame wheel gun.These grips are well-made, and fit my revolver nicely. However, there is a slight palm swell that still make them a bit too bulky for my ideal rubber grip. On a gun with a 3" barrel, they look a little too big to my eye.My ideal rubber grips with an open back strap, and no finger grooves, are still the Pachmayr Compac Professionals (03272). The Pachmayrs just look great to me, feel fantastic in my smaller hand, and help me shoot better as a result. Thanks, and happy shooting!

I purchased this Hogue grip to replace the factory grip on my new S&W 686-6" revolver. I have medium sized hands but a slightly short trigger finger, and I could not effectively get the pad of my finger square on the trigger. This Hogue grip is more slender at the top and I can re-position my hands more easily since there are no finger grooves. It also converts the grip to a full size square butt which allows me to hold the gun with both hands better. It's easy to install, fits perfectly, and much cheaper than the hardwood versions. My Safariland speed-loader also works fine with it.

Love it. I'm not a fan of most finger grip grips, like the stock Hogue on the 686. This grip has enough tack to not shift in hand, but not overly tacky either. Feels great in the hand. Good positioning for full house magnum loads, very comfortable. Best of all is the value - much much cheaper than custom grips, or even proper wooden grips. Get this, even if you don't love it the cost makes it worth it to try.

I got this for a 6" 686 and it's significantly better at recoil reduction than the stock rubber-over-plastic grip, even with the exposed backstrap. The lack of finger grooves is also a significant plus for me since with my smaller hands standard finger grooves just don't fit me. The texture was surprising, as it is smooth but very porous, not pebbled or stippled like other Hogue grips, but still very grippy. The exposed backstrap design also reduces trigger reach and lends to a higher grip, improving the gun's handling.The only con is that the grip does not fit completely snug with the frame, so feels a little sloppy, especially at the top of the back strap. It does not shift significantly during fire, even with hot loads, but it's still disconcerting. Still, I'd get this again for a similar sized K or L frame.Note it's a large long grip designed for target and field use, not so good for concealed carry. If you want concealment, try the Hogue Bantam, though you may need to alter the finger grooves to fit you if you have small hands.

Mounted on My Smith & Wesson 617 revolver.I bought this to replace the finger grooved original Hogue grip that is also made by Hogue thinking it would be just as good except no finger grooves, what a mistake this replacement grip feels cheap to the touch. It feels like the sound of gripping cork board as the sides are not tight and make a sound against the frame when you grip the gun like clacking corkboard, the problem is that they fasten the grip with a screw at the bottom instead of through the side like the original Hogue grip on the 617, this leaves the sides loose and also the fitting to the pistols backbone is off and makes the entire gun look cheap as you buy a Smith for the attention to detail. I'm totally dissatisfied."Hogue" if You people who usually make a good product read this 'Make a grip for the 617 exactly like the one on it from factory except no finger groves and you'll have a winner.

This is a great grip replacement for my S&W 686 4" Revolver with the round butt. Originally, my 686 factory stock grip was the two panel piece Hogue grip with the finger grooves. Those finger grooves on the original grip that I had bothered the heck out of me because I could not get a decent purchase with my hand on the grip. Also, that same original grip always caused my middle finger to uncomfortably bump into the lower rear portion of the trigger guard. Both of those issues were relieved with this new Hogue rubber monogrip. Came with monogrip, stirrup and screw, and quick assembly instructions. Definitely an amazing product and worth the purchase.

I am one of those guys that find finger grooves on handgun grips annoying. My wife and I both own S@W .357 mag revolvers. I replaced the original finger grooved grip with this Hogue product. It made a lot of difference for me. The grips fit snug; screw, mounting hardware and instructions are included. After my wife tried my new grips, she turned right around and ordered one for herself. What can I say.
