Q: Is it dishwasher safe?

I would not put the apple peeler in the dishwasher because the water woutbe trapped under the suction area. Best to wash and dry by hand.

Q: Can you peel and core it without slicing it? I've seen some do let you remove the slicer and some don't.

Yes, you can peel it and core it without slicing it. This little machine makes peeling apples so easy and fast that my four year old granddaughter loves to do it with me.
