I get great hold from the Matte paste without leave my hair greasy, crunchy. or wet looking. I have tried several products over the years and this is by far the best I have used. I have found that It is easy to apply and washes off your hands without leaving any sort of residue. In the past, I was an American Crew Fiber user, but I like this product better. The only downside for me is the cost. I usually get it cheaper from my hair stylist.

I tried it first at my barber shop and I loved it. Not only you get a great natural hold - and not greasy nor shining, nor wet looking - but it smells good and it's water based so it does not leave your hands sticky. A great product.

The paste works great but would love to see them lower the price point

I keep it on reorder because it’s the only hair product I enjoy. Keeps what little hair I have left in place and doesn’t look all gooey. Nice and dry like the good lord intended

I ordered the version with "Scent: Clean/Fresh" but it smells really bad. Aside from that, the hold is excellent and it easily washes away with shampoo. Returning it and will order "Gentlemen Republic Classic Pomade - Medium Hold & Medium Shine, Water Soluble, No Beezwax, Made in USA - 4 oz, Ideal for Classic Styles" with Scent: Fresh Aqua.

I’ve used the matte paste for about 2 years now and the thing I love most about is how easy it is to wash off. Unlike other products, you tend to need 2 washes to get it completely off but with gentleman’s republic you just need one. I have a lot of hair so I thought I needed a lot of paste to style my hair but, you just need a finger tip amount to perfectly style your hair. With that, it keeps the style of your hair all day.

Holds my hair without looking “wet” or “dry”. When you see those models on Pinterest and you wonder how the guys get their hair to stay that way looking natural, this is the product they use.
