Pendaflex Extra Capacity Reinforced Hanging File Folders, 2", Legal Size, Standard Green, 1/5 Cut, 25/BX (4153x2)

I've been using Pendaflex hanging file folders for years and have many that are 30 or 40 years old and still going strong. I especially like the expandable ones, which have an insert that goes into slots in the bottom of the folder to expand it to 1, 2, 3, or 4 inches, depending on which width you purchase. Once expanded, the hanging folder is the same height as the flat ones or the other sizes of expandable ones, so you can combine them to meet your needs. The expandable ones enable you to have a number of related file folders or documents (such as an instruction manual) in the same hanging file.I purchased these to fit into a fireproof document box that comes with letter-size hanging folders although it accommodates both letter and legal size. I'm using the document box to store legal-size documents, so I purchased my old favorite Pendaflex folders to fill it.

Decent file holders, however not that sturdy. I find the metal clasps constantly need adjusting and any file with any sort of weight to it, will collapse it pretty quickly. Still, with the larger squared bottom, they are better than the regular ones, but I wish the manufacturer would make the metal parts a bit more tougher.

At full 2" expansion the tab was still (slightly) higher than the tabs on the standard/non-expanding folders that it held. That's a good thing. I'm still considering color-coding. This entire project has made me realize how OCD I can be.

These folders are fine. They work. They're not great. The box I received included printable labels, but didn't have any of the plastic tabs that you can put the labels in. It also seems to need a piece of cardstock or something to actually keep the flat bottoms flat, and this was also not included, nor were there any directions for how to do this - just the indication of something rectangular and white inserted into the bottom of the folder in some of the pictures. Additionally, you have to actually fold the bottom flat yourself, and if you don't the folders are too tall and the metal clips sort of hover above where they're supposed to hook onto.

Nice folders but, not super easy to get the 1" fold in the bottom. Nice cardboard insert for the bottom of the folder; definitely holds more than the regular folders.

We use these for important documents that need to be kept safe. They do the job.

These  Pendaflex 4153X3 Hanging Box Bottom Folder, Standard Green, Legal, 25 Per Box  are perfect for larger files you want to keep together. I have files for each person in the family. My husband has had several surgeries and it allows me to keep his medical records together. Then there are the kids school papers, award certificates, and progress and report cards sent home through out the school year. This allows me to keep all their papers labelled and together. I have a file for home, pets, cars, taxes, and employee papers. In addition I am a creative artist and use 9 x 11 size Bristol pads have a lot of drawings and art work that I keep in these box type legal size file folders. They are fairly sturdy and should not be a problem.This is the 3 inch box bottom which is great for large files, but if you do not have enough papers to fill the 3 inch order the 1 or 2 inch sizes, otherwise the papers kind of sag or slide down in the folder.

I needed them to empty out another file. These will be going into long term storage, or until they will be shredded.

These were excellent, never new they existed, and fit into filling cabinet with lots of room left. It makes things easier to locate and not looking like a cabinet jammed with files. Should have had them years ago.
