Round Gate Wall Protector

The Regalo Easy Step Extra Tall Walk Thru Gate was such an excellent buy, I purchased two of these gates to contain my grand children in a child proofed part of the house. An excellent companion purchase to use with the gate are the 4 pack Baby Gates Wall Cups by Vmaisi. The hard-plastic wall cup provided with the gate, fit perfectly within these cups. With a simple installation of a single wood screw, these protectors securely anchor the walk thru gate to the opening creating an efficient barrier to protect both children and pets. The spring loaded “lock” can be a challenge to open with one hand, however with a little practice it can be operated with a single hand with ease. These gates are meant to remain in place, however with the installation of the wall cups directly to the wall or jam, these gates can be temporarily removed and reinstalled with ease. Well built, quality product that performs as advertised.

I bought these vmaisi mounting cups to use with a Munchkin XL baby gate at the top of a staircase to increase the sturdiness and have been very satisfied. These mounting cups were very straightforward to use / easy to install. You just stick the mounting cups that came with your baby gate into these cups and turn the adjustment rod on your gate until it is firmly pressure-mounted to the wall. Note that these add a little bit of overall width to your gate, so you'll need to factor in an additional .98" (basically an inch) to your width calculations if you need to figure out gate extensions. I used the bottom cups on a baseboard and the top mounted directly to walls, so I had the top adjustment rods turned out a lot more than the bottom ones. I didn't need to drill holes to attach these to the wall. They are very sturdy without doing that. The larger diameter of these (2 1/3 inches) than the typical mounting cups that come with your gate, along with the riveted lines on the side that faces the surface you're mounting it to is what allows for a sturdier grip to keep your gate in place. It also allows your surfaces to be protected a bit more because the larger rubber grips diffuse crazy kid or animal energy thrown their way. My strong 2 year old loves to try to grab, pull, and shake the gate like it will magically open for him if he tries hard enough (the gate hasn't moved a bit, and you'd think he's learn that he shouldn't bother, but he sometimes still goes at it like his life depends on it.) Update: My child has grown and we no longer need the gates. There were NO marks on the walls when taking the gates off using these at the top of the stairs. We didn't have the mounting cups on the gate at the bottom of the stairs and there were gouges out of the drywall and baseboard moulding. I wish we would have used these on the bottom gate too. I highly recommend this product! I'm glad we had a little extra ease of mind at the top of the stairs and they did a good job of protecting drywall and moulding.

Works well as described, I’m also very happy that I didn’t have to put holes in the wall again. Seems very sturdy and looks great, super easy to just click into place and use your baby gate to hold them up.

These are a lifesaver for so many different things inside and outside the house! Very inexpensive, incredibly easy to use, perfect size, they fit just about everything and the quality is very nice! They keep rods, baby gates, dog gates etc from making those puncture in your walls and keep them securely in place. Can also use them on the bottom of chairs that you don't want moving around. So many different uses for these. They really are a must have.

This gate was recommended to me by a friend with kids and dogs. It was worth every penny! Got this gate to keep a 3 year old, 40 pound, very enthusiastic, high energy, strong dog in the large kitchen area while we’re out or if guests come. She stands on her hinds legs and pushes against the gates. She is at the tall end of what is considered a medium sized dog-specifically she is a German Pointer - terrier mix. We have 2 of these gates in use to block off both thresholds; one is wider than the other. The extensions that came with each gate attach easily and hold up well; they do not compromise sturdiness! The extra tall height AND the heavier weight are essential for keeping keeping dogs/kids/cats from climbing/jumping over or passing through the bars. I have found that heavier gates like this one do a much better long term job than their lightweight counterparts. The gate operation to open it is easy for adults but impossible for babies and little kids, as well as pets. It also has a color- marker so you can tell if gate is balanced and securely closed. And you can here when it shuts securely. It’s an absolute must to measure your openings, including moldings that pressure mounts or wall fixtures to which gates may be attached. I found the printed instructions to be somewhat confusing but the visuals were very helpful. I think the instructions were written by someone who doesn’t speak and write English fluently. The most important thing is to remember that until the gate is almost completely in place, there will be a visual gap in the opening. This is not a default. And it’s written in the instructions and on box. So do not worry.

Serves the purpose but very unaesthetic and bulky.
