Bamboo Lap Desk with Extra Comfortable Cushion. Perfect Study Tray.

This is a piece of art. I looked for a lap desk I could use for writing, working with my laptop, studying, reading, and entertaining my cat. Janet, who produced this wonderful product, is an entrepreneur who designs things that she needed, created, and feels comfortable with. It is made of laminated bamboo, which has wonderful natural color shapes and shadows in its texture. The soft memory cushion keeps it stable on my lap, and it is just wide enough to fill the space between the arms of my favorite reading armchair -- with room for my wide screen laptop computer, reference notes and a mouse. When I need to put it away, it has a nice carved handle grip, which allows me to simply place it next to my chair, where it adds to the decor of my living room. The finish is polished and smooth, a beautiful addition to any decor. I am presently seated at my computer table, with the lap desk in my lap, with reference books and notes on it, for transcription and note taking. Even the memory lap pad has an elegant silk cover, with no slippage once it is on my lap. Considerable thought and pride went into this product. I intend to buy more as gifts for my creative friends. Under the Bamboo BoardThis is a nicely made and comfortable lap board. The size is good for use in most armchair and on most laps, and the light weight and good balance make it easy to handle. The wood finish is smooth and light, and the carrying handle is easy to hold. The foam rubber pad beneath the board helps with Balance and stability. Overall (and after looking over several lap boards) this is the best I've found. It's a little expensive, but seems to me to be worth it's price. ,

It's really nice and I like it a lot. I think it will work very well. It's a tad bigger than I wanted, but the reviews etc were so good that I went for it anyway. I actually don't use a lap desk for my laptop. I use it on my lap, to work crossword puzzles and sudokus while I watch TV. If I sit upright and put the desk on my lap, it fits under the arms of my rocking chair (yup, I'm that old), which is actually better for what I'm doing.

Update 2: The seller sent a replacement for the faulty desk. I'll have to use it for a week or so to see if the same happens to it as to the last one. Again, the touch and feel of these desks are amazing. Hope it lasts.Update 1: I'm updating the review from awesome to poor. The desk started falling apart shortly after i started using it. It started emitting loud cracking noises and now the pieces of wood are coming apart.I still like the desk, but i can't use it if it falls apart, so i'm returning it.

This lap desk is beautiful and the foam cushion is very comfortable. It seems very durable, and holds my MacBook and mouse perfectly. However, the most impressive aspect of my purchase was Riun's customer service. My first order was slightly damaged (may have happened during shipping), and the company quickly shipped me a replacement. I would definitely buy from them again.

I purchased for my husband to use after rotator cuff surgery. I was told to expect him to live in the recliner for days or weeks. Since his right arm is totally immobilized, he has to eat in the recliner with his left hand. The lap desk makes balancing a plate easier. The cushion makes it comfortable. Eventually, he may move up to his laptop if he learns to use a mouse left-handed. Easy order and prompt delivery.

Ordered this for my elderly mother. It fits her needs perfectly. She likes to do puzzles plus bills, etc. The surface is not too slippery & the bottom detachable cushion is very comfortable. She only wishes the cutout handle was smaller or not even there. Overall, well worth the money.

This lap desk is the best...it's the perfect size! It's very sturdy and very light! I love it!
