Absolutely loved it!!!
I can’t stop thinking about cupcakes! This was another delicious read in this addictive series. I loved the characters, settings, detailed food descriptions, recipes, and touches of humor. It also had a fantastic twisty mystery! Can’t wait to read the next book in this series!

Great characters
I found Krista Davis and the Diva series a while ago. I always look forward to her books as she does a good job of creating characters that I like, and would probably enjoy being around. Face it, we read these types of books because we enjoy the people in them - they are not classic who-done-it's and don't pretend to be. Her books are a fun read, the mysteries engaging and I've picked up a few hints for around the kitchen and house! This story doesn't disappoint and we are introduced to a few new characters - perhaps a new man for Sophie? There are myriad "theme" mystery series and the other cooking/chef series that I have read are those by Diane Mott Davidson. There is no comparison in my opinion. Something happened and those characters by Ms Davidson have grown less appealing and less interesting in the last few years. If you haven't done so already check out the Diva stories. I recommend starting from the first book, but that may be an individual compulsion!

I Want Cupcakes!
This book will make you crave cupcakes. It will also delight you with the mix of characters, including wonderful dogs and cats. There's a murder, of course, and Sophie, the heroine of the Diva series, needs to solve it. Some hilarious scenes with the nauseating Natasha trying to nuzzle up to Alex, the new guy in town (and right in front of Sophie, the woman Alex seems to prefer, and Mars, the poor schnook Natasha is currently living with -- and is Sophie's ex-husband!), and how he handles the awful woman. Great mystery. Although I always prefer good characterization to the actual plot in a cozy. And this book has that. One of the best books in the series. Highly recommended.

Cupcake War Galore!
Sophie Winston, an event planner, and her friends are excited to be involved with a cupcake fundraiser for cats and dogs in Old Town, Washington, D.C. There is even a cupcake themed gala planned. However, there could be trouble on the horizon when two bakeries begin a cupcake war.Not only are the bakeries fighting, also someone is spreading lies and innuendo about Sophie that can cost her work and her reputation. Then, someone steals one of the dogs up for adoption. Trouble escalates until it crescendos with the death of Sugar Baby's remaining employee. Could all these worrisome troubles be connected? And, the characters involved. There are too many and too varied to list here but, trust me, there are some very shady folks running around the fundraiser and Old Town. This was a very entertaining novel. It is the seventh in the series which has continued to improve. Recipes are at the ending, even for pupcakes! Also, there were wonderful tips about what not to feed your pets. Sugar substitutes? I had no idea.A great summer read. Go out and enjoy!

Cupcake Wars????
I really liked this murder mystery and not really because this book had a really wily and sophisticated murder mystery plot, because it really did not. I figured out who did it way before the end of the story. I loved this book because of the characters and how the author makes them come to life and that they feel like family! I love Natasha and her snobby ways, I love Humphrey, the loveable and shy mortician who has difficulty with women. I even like the animals and their personalities that come through the talented pen of Krista Davis. I have read every single one of these novels in this series and I just can't wait to go to Old Town and visit the gang! Cupcakes are alive and well in Old Town! I think you could pick up any of these novels and be entertained as they tend to stand alone. The writing is funny, fresh, and entertaining. One of the best cozy mystery series going! Highly recommended.

Cupcakes! Yum!
While I do like this series, there are always lots of characters. I did like the cupcake theme, but pupcakes? That was a tad bizarre. However, I did appreciate the benefit for animals who need to be adopted. Sophie is no longer involved with Wolf (the married cop), and a new love interest (Alex) has come to town Natasha is at it again as every time Alex comes around Sophie, she has to be right there getting in between them. So a new love interest for Sophie,, Humphrey (one of Sophie's nerdy friends) has 2 love interests , lots and lots of cupcakes, jealous wife, obnoxious neighbor and then throw in a murder makes this a fun light mystery read.

Always a good read
I always have a good time when I travel to Old Town, Virginia. This time Sophie is involved in cupcakes and murder and the prime suspect is a good friend of hers. This is one of those books that once I started, I could not put it down until I was finished and what a great read that I enjoyed. The author did a good job in delivery a mystery full of suspects that each time I thought I knew who was behind the murder; she changed direction that kept me guessing further. Sophie and the gang are back with the introduction of a new cast member who I hope we get to see more of. A solid entry into the Domestic Diva series, this well-written whodunit is charmingly entertaining.
