Not great finish to wood
Disappointing. Not great finish to wood. One arm incorrect fit. Had to return. Helpful return team. No quibble.fast refund. Three stars for them really.

Liked it so well that we bought another, and another!
Like many archery families, we switched from recurve to compound in the 1990s. I cringe every time we lose an arrow because it's like eating a $10 bill. On top of that, we were driving for more than an hour to our "local" archery shop every time someone's bow needed serviced or repaired. I forgot what a joy recurve bows are until I bough this for my 16 year old for Christmas. I wanted something that he could store under his bed (takedown fit the bill). It became such a hit with the family that we ended up buying one for my 12 year old in April and one for my dad shortly thereafter. Arrows are inexpensive. All the bows fit in the trunk of the car. Parts are replaceable at home. We love our compounds for hunting, but recurves have brought back the joy of being able to shoot everyday.

I would absolutely recommend this bow to any beginner.
I'll start with the cons first. It took over a week to even start shipping but that might have been the companies fault. Second the string seems to be a fairly low quality but so far has gotten the job done though I can tell after only shooting it roughly 40 times the strings has noticeable wear on it. Quite a few reviews I read before purchasing this bow said the bolts didn't line up with the holes when attaching the limbs. I however didn't have any issues with that at all. The limbs attached without any issue and took me 5 minutes to have the bow up and ready to shoot. I've set my bow up to shoot off the shelf and it works quite well. Seems fairly accurate and with 35 lbs limbs seems quite powerful. I would absolutely recommend this bow to any beginner and with the quality of the build I can see myself using this for a long time.*update* 5/22/17I bought this bow back in March and have almost had it for 2 months now. I have to say I absolutely love this bow! I've had no issues with the limbs, strings, or riser. My accuracy has improved and I've had no technical failures with this bow. I am just shooting off the shelf as the arrow rest that came with the bow was cheap. As long as you get arrows with feather fletchings you should be fine. Also for the brace height 8 1/8" seems to work really well. The bow is pretty loud but that can fixed somewhat. The picture I attached is my groupings after about 2 months of shooting from 20 yards away.

Good bow once we worked on it some.
my husband took me to an archery shop for my birthday and I got a bow, I unfortunately shoot left-handed and he is right, so my setup didn’t work for him and we wanted to do this together. They didn’t have a right handed setup in store at 35lbs, so I ordered this for him so we could practice together. this has all similar specs and is about the same price as mine, (I have a pse nighthawk)we did a lot of research and this is supposed to be the same quality, however definitely not as good as mine. There is no arrow knock which is easy enough to add if you want one. The wood is slightly splintered in several places, Enough to where we had to sand it down to stop getting splinters when holding it..not a huge deal and a fairly easy fix, but not some thing I think you should not have to do immediately upon buying a bow. While this is a decent price, it’s also not cheap. I did expect slightly better quality. The arrow rest broke the first time he used it, which again not a huge deal, You can buy another one and reattach it no problem. Holes are slightly off for attachments, but we got it to work. Once we worked all of the kinks out the bow shoots very well and functions wonderfully which is most important!

I am pleased to write this review
Wow, I am pleased to write this review. I received my Samick Sage Takedown Recurve bow with great speed. I was very excited to get it. I knew it was a great bow because I did my research before my purchase. Not hard to put together.I didn't want to write this until I shot it on the range. All I can say is WOW. I bow is awesome to say the least!!!I was way excited to shoot it on the range. I strung it up, took my first shot and realized my rusty bow shooting form had readily returned. The bow is awesome. It is very stable and tough. What I DIDN'T want was to take a chance on a bow take revieled some flaw or issues with it's weaknesses. After a careful investigation, this bow was the result. This is the result of that research. So, after shooting the bow, I was estatic.Resason being, my Dad and best hunting buddy past away almost 2 years ago. We were small game shotgun hunters. Grouse, rabbit, squirrels, pheasants, duck, etc.. This bow fit the bill and I will definately be hunting with this bow. What more can i say? Oh, bow fishing! This bow has all the fittings to mount a bow or you can use a tape on reel. 35lb bow is easy to hold at draw poundage in order for small game to raise their head after a bit of scarry silence as one hunts with rabbit or squirrels, rabbit, etc.. 35lbs is also a good bowfishing weight as per my reseach. What to say? I love this bow.C
