I cannot rave about this book enough!!!!
I cannot rave about this book enough. I have always struggled with creating and following recipes that ended up in flavorful, delicious AND healthy meals. Outside of salads and veggie stir fry, I was basically stumped for options. Along comes these two young ladies with their wonderful website and YouTube videos that were not only engaging, but relatable and easy to follow. PLUS, they have so much experience as credentialed dieticians and nutritionists that I found myself learning so much about not only eating delicious foods on a budget, but also eating, delicious, HEALTHY foods on a budget! NOW THE BOOK IS HERE! Which means I can take all their wisdom with me not matter where I go. There are so many delicious recipes that are super easy to follow and fit within my budget. After spending some time with this book, I can say that almost all of the recipes are super simple. They also put labels on them like vegan, 30 minutes or less and gluten free, so it's perfect for people who have food intolerance and/or want quick easy meals. So far I have made 4 recipes and they were delicious and filling!!! As a meat eater, I was shocked that plant-based dishes could keep me full and satisfied. My hubby is loving the recipes too. Our favorite so far was the one-pot curry risotto (hubby practically licked the plate). It was so simple and I had most of the ingredients in my kitchen already, which is always a plus. I doubled the portions and added some to the freezer for later hehe. I also love the variety of smoothie recipes, and that all of the ingredients are in your local grocery store. They are super easy to prep before a busy day at work. The one's I have tried so far have kept me full for hours because they have a nice balance of healthy fats, fiber and protein. So far my favorite is the chocolate milk breakfast smoothie (they also have a chocolate oatmeal recipe!). Since Jess & Wendy are Registered Dietitians, you actually know that you are getting healthy, balanced recipes. Non of the smoothies were filled with sugar and only fruit, which is what I tend to mostly see online. I can't wait to try more recipes and do not hesitate to give this book 5 stars. This is perfect for people who want to upgrade their diet and health in a fun and satisfying way, and good for people who don't want to have to go to specialty health food stores to eat healthy!

Life-changing. Amazing food + solid nutrition
Where to begin - I've been following Jess and Wendy for a while and one thing I know is that they take the name Food Heaven Made Easy seriously! This is a gorgeous book with delicious, unique, easy to make recipes. There's absolutely nothing complicated, gross or boring here. What comes across in everything Jess and Wendy do is that this isn't about fads, food trends or just having a cute book for your bookshelf - this is a generous offering of solid info to help you live a healthier, better life. I recently switched to a plant-based diet after having many food-related skin and digestive issues and this book has already become my food bible (the one-pot curry risotto & green smoothie recipes are already favorites!).What I love most is that you don't have to compromise anything - you can have it all (lol): food that's actually super enjoyable to eat AND good for you, confidence that you're getting the right nutrients (because these ladies are for real and they know their stuff), time and money saved. I feed my two-year old son everything I make from this book and don't have to worry that he's missing anything.This book is for anyone who wants an accessible way to eat well and feel better without all the stress. I can't recommend it enough.

My New Favorite Cookbook!
This book was recommended to me by one of my girlfriends who had been following the Food Heaven Podcast. She had always raved about their recipes and I decided to give the cookbook a try. I'm not going to lie, at first I was hesitant, because I am not a vegetarian. I am a meat eater and love my steak and potatoes haha. But I am now inspired to live a more plant-based lifestyle. I love the non-judgmental, friendly tone of Wendy and Jess. They make it clear that you do not have to be vegetarian to be healthy. They have a whole section about the power of a plant-based diet in the book, but they make it clear that you can still be a plant-based meat eater and be healthy.Now on to the recipes! I love all of the vibrant and colorful recipes in this book. This book absolutely makes me want to eat a healthier diet. It also makes me feel like I don't have to be a chef to make healthy and delicious meals. Everything is very simple and doable for someone like me, who doesn't feel 100% comfortable in the kitchen. Over the weekend I used Wendy and Jess' meal planning technique to make three of their recipes to bring to work. Sooooo good! I have never been a fan of tofu, but I love their easy baked crispy tofu recipe, which I was able to make once and use in all two of the three recipes (crispy tofu tortas and thai coconut curry soup, etc). I am so excited to try more of these recipes! If you are a meat eater who wants to add more plant-based recipes into your diet to be healthier, then this book is for you!

Healthy, Delicious, & Easy :)
I'm a huge fan of Wendy & Jess and so happy to see great work coming from fellow registered dietitians! The recipes I've tried so far from this book have been tasty and easy to make. The book also includes a primer on nutrition and meal planning that would be really helpful for someone just getting started cooking or transitioning to a healthier lifestyle. There are huge, gorgeous pictures throughout the book for almost every recipe. This book lives on my kitchen counter and I love flipping through for inspiration even when I'm not following a specific recipe.
