MSI MPG Z690 Carbon WiFi Gaming Motherboard (ATX, 12th Gen Intel Core, LGA 1700 Socket, DDR5, PCIe 4, CFX, M.2 Slots, Wi-Fi 6E)

Great looking Motherboard to complete my MSI inspired build!The MSI red Logo gave me the inspiration to make a red and back rig. The MSI MPG Intel Z690 CARBON completes the build nicely together with my RTX 2080. Mystic light (via MSI Centre) allows me to easily change the Rainbow RGB effects to the Red effect I am going for. A Dragon's got to be red right!?Super happy with the MB, to the point I added the Red MSI Sticker to the front, which rarely do with included stickers.

Nice looking board.MANY connectors ( Sata/M2/Fans/RGBs )Good performing heatsinkSmooth installation/setupEasy OCEasy fans curves adjustmentsBUT :Using the Intel i225-v chipset as lan controler is the worst idea they could use with this ... lan stuck at 100mpbs... very far from 2.5gpsAfter many hours of searchs/tests(windows/linux/many version of drivers and software/fresh install from scratch) still no fix AND MANY MANY users have this problem since many years with no fixThis problem exist with other motherboards of different brand using that lan chipset.To solve my issue ( because changing board not solving the issue -build 2 pc with two different board = same problem ) : I've put a pcie lan card with another chipset on it (realtek) - Got my lan full speed instantlyThe problem is not the motherboard; it's the lan chipset (I225-v = bad choice)

This board is amazing in every aspect. Full disclosure the original purchase had to be returned due to a bent pin. Not sure if it's Amazon to thank or MSI, but I got a new one shipped out and delivered in 2 days. The firmware was from 2021, but it had no problems detecting my 12700k as well as my Trident Z RGB 6000Mhz. The RGB is incredible, especially the Dragon. The RGB Carbon over the chipset is great too; however, if you have a massive card it will be difficult if not impossible to see, if the case is not placed on a desk.There is one thing I wish was different about this board. In addition to the 5 USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports in the back, there are also 4 USB 2.0 ports. I wish those 4 ports were at least 3.2 Gen 1 (USB 3.0) to make this board more future proof than it already is. However, this is just me nitpicking. This is my first ever MSI motherboard and knock on wood, I'm not disappointed at all.

Arrived very fast perfect condition. I love the rgb on it and the control that mystic light give for the rgb. I picked this motherboard because it has debug light and wifi 6. The 18+1+1 power phase seem more than enough for me. Its also one of the only board that has dual pci-e gen 5 slots and can do 8x8. Overall a very nice board that fullfill everything i need and then some.

De momento ha funcionado de maravilla. Es mi primer PC build y tiene bastantes caracteristicas que explorar.
