The Aircraft Book: The Definitive Visual History

It was the perfect gift for my son who is very much into aircraft. You can have a brief opinion about aviation history. The quality of images, cover and paper weight is perfect.

The cover of this book is great! And the information & pictures are wonderful!! Definitely for an airplane enthusiast!

While the book is great for my son, who is into aviation, but the book was used or at least somewhat damaged at each of its four corners! This book was advertised as new, so I wrote complaining and I got 50% off.

Well organized, beautiful illustrations, but emphatically NOT hardcover. The book is lovely, but I bought it to be left out in the expectation it was, as listed, a hardcover copy. The $40 cost is somewhat excessive for a soft bound book. However, if you love airplanes and the cost & binding are unimportant to you, you'll likely be delighted with your purchase.

If you're interested in aviation or having a budding interest in the subject well, this is the book for you.. It's a comprehensive visual representation of the history of aviation.... and has almost every major aircraft type from the Wright flyer to the F-22 Raptor however it lacks the following aircraft: 1) The Boeng B-29 Superfortress 2) The Dassault Rafale 3) The A-26 Invader 4) The Hawker Typhoon 5) Later variants of the Spitfire It would have been much better if certain pictures had not been split across 2 pages (i.e. aircraft like the F-14 Tomcat, FW190 and a few others). The cut out of the F-16 is shown larger than the cut outs of the F-15... & the A-20 Havoc (a medium bomber) is shown larger than the B-17 Flying Fortress & B-24 Liberator (Both the latter being heavy bombers) Dimensions of all aircraft such as Fuselage length, wingspan,empty eight, maximum take-off weight should have been included for all aircraft... Certain aircraft have not been dated properly.. for example the Seafire Mk.XVII is dated 1941 but in fact it appeared only in 1944.. Certain carrier based aircraft like the Seafire & Wyvern are shown with the wings folded obscuring the fuselage... I'd have surely given it 5 stars if the issues mentioned above hadn't existed......

It’s a good book with a hardcover and good quality papers. The illustrations are great and well explained.

It’s a great book all about aircraft from early aircraft to today’s modern aircraft. Lots of information with some great pictures and illustrations.
