Most body groomers are a disappointment, but this one is fantastic.
If you are the sort of guy that likes to stay groomed, as I am, this is what you've been looking for. I've tried about a dozen different body groomers of this general type and price range, and I have been hugely disappointed by all of them prior to finding this one.In my experience these shavers typically have poor battery life; quickly deteriorating charge memory; are cheaply made with plastic parts that break or make noise; and, worst of all, the trimmer or shaver blades (1) dull quickly and (2) insecurely attach to the base of the unit such that they detach during operation and break easily. This unit somehow manages to overcome all of these problems. It charges quickly, stays charged and has a lot of power. It has a heavy, sturdy construction of steel and what feels like very durable ABS plastic. It is by no means quiet, but the sound is very reasonable in light of its power output. By far the best aspect of this unit, however, is that it comes with a slew of extremely high quality blades and trimmers, and the attachments connect to the base of the unit using a solid turn-and-lock mechanism which is far and away superior to all of the units I've used in the past. In short, this product outperforms its peers, includes lots of nice attachments and a good looking travel bag, and the price is the same or lower than most others in its class.

Great trimmer
Works great. Good quality, should last a while. Replaces a Norelco, which was also great. Broke one of its attachments; buying a whole new one wasn't much more than buying just the attachment. Perfect selection of attachments for my needs. No beard and not a body shaver, although it comes with a few of those attachments too. Completely satisfied.

So far, it is working, but "Turbo"? ...Meh!
I haven't put this to a ton of use yet, but it seems to work pretty well at this point. I was a little surprised that it doesn't have the motor speed I expected, being significantly slower than my old Wahl was, even on the "Turbo" mode. I find myself making more passes over the eyebrows than I did with the previous trimmer. The sideburns trim quick and clean. I like the little wand for the nose and ear hair. Much better than the rotating head on my old unit. I don't do the "Manscaping" thing so I don't know what it will be like in that category (maybe that's what the "Turbo" mode is for?) but it did work well when my wife trimmed my neck in-between haircuts. I will be interested to see how long the battery continues to take and hold a charge. That has been the low point for my last two trimmers. They both began showing a loss in power and battery life inside of two years and I only use my trimmers once every two weeks or so.

Trimmer came and it was DOA (dead on arrival)***Second order works just fine!
Right as I took the trimmer out of the bag it was in I noticed the trimmer head had some gunk in between the blades. It sort of looked like the glue magazines and small packages use. The kind that is sticky but easily removable. I didn't touch it to see what exactly it was however. Maybe it was to protect the blades during shipping or some sorta of oil that spreads throughout the blades when it is first turned on. I'm not sure how big of an issue it is but it is worth noting. All of the other heads were clean and just fine. The body trimming, detail and eyebrow comb (that's just one) and the body trimming combs didn't have nearly any flex but the hair comb had quite a bit of flex. I'm not sure if that is intended or not.The included bag looks nice with it's realistic faux leather from the outside but pretty simple on the inside. No smaller pockets are on the inside which would have been nice to protect the different tools from rubbing together and possibly damaging one another. It is just one big pocket to put your tools and trimmer in.I then plugged it in to charge fully for the first time. The charging light didn't come on so I thought it came completely discharged (unlikely as it isn't healthy for lithium ion batteries to remain discharged for long periods of time). I came back an hour later as the instructions said and the light still wasn't on. I pressed the power and turbo button and it never turned on. I tried different trimming heads to no avail. I contacted Philips support for troubleshooting and that didn't work so they said I should send it back for a replacement. Unfortunately I could only return this one and order another one. Luckily Amazon paid for the one day shipping for the new order. I'll try and update this when I get the other one that hopefully works.P.S. The box had white stickers over all of the serial ID # barcodes on the box so that was a bit weird. Also when you change the heads there is some grease or oil on the axle that powers the different trimmer heads. Try and not rub that off as it is crucial to the function of the trimmers. You can see there is some grease in each trimmer head as well to make sure there's always some between the trimmer head and axle.***QUICK UPDATE***I received the other order in the mail today and it charged and turns on just fine with each trimmer tool! I'm giving it a 3/5 because I have yet to use the different tools yet (just testing). The trimmer is surprisingly quiet! The main trimmer didn't come with the gunk in the blades however the nose and ear trimmer did have the gunk on it. It turns on and runs just fine though. The bag that came with this set has the Philips logo on it but they didn't imprint it property so it is hard to see. Nip picky yes but worth noting.***SECOND UPDATE****I finally used it for the first time in the shower today to trim my arm pits, shave my chest and manscape. The body comb is a little bit difficult to adjust to the certain length you want. When you move it the comb moves 2-4 places. You have to push it just right to move it a notch or two. It did a decent job trimming my armpits. I pretty much had to have the turbo on the entire time or I wasn't making much progress. It could have been the water that made it more difficult because the hair was weighed down by the water though.Next I used the bodytrimmer tool and I have to say it's AWESOME! I love how it leaves a more natural look when shaving. A razor blade takes everything over and because of that you can miss places and have weird patches here and there. This didn't have that problem and left enough hair to make it look fine but trimmed just enough to my liking. I was very nervous to use this for manscaping because I was used to body shaving gel and a body razor but I got it a shot and WOW! I was really surprised how the foil cutter design on the bodytrimmer tool didn't catch or irritate the skin at ALL! It was remarkable. After I dried off the shave it left for manscaping did leave something to be desired but I'll have to see how it grows back. I'm used to using a body razor blade which grows back sorta itchy and irritating. I'll update after I trim my sideburns, facial hair and use the nose and eyebrow trimmer tools!
