I purchased this for a friend as a birthday present and he loves it. It Looks great from afar but up close you can see the horizontal lines from a 3d printer and the moon part does feel cheap to touch. This is a VERY minor gripe and realistically you wouldn't be handling it much post setup. I like the different colors it can be changed to and the bright levels is nice.

This thing is absolutely awesome. It is so cool to watch it actually levitate above the base. As it levitates it spins. And you can turn the light on and off. It spins the entire time it’s plugged in. The remote control controls the lighting. You can choose so many colors as well as A flash mode or a fade mode. You can also have it stay solid white if you don’t want any colors. There’s a brightness and a dimming button on the remote as well. And there’s even a 30 minute and 60 minute timer function to have the light turn off automatically.It took me about 30 seconds to get the moon to levitate. There is a extremely strong magnetic pull. Do not put your fingers on the bottom and do not do this on a surface where you have fragile things sitting. You need to lower it to the base very slowly. Then you can feel it really poor away from the center of the base. You really want to hold it steady and find that magical sweet spot where it doesn’t really pole anymore and it just floats. If you’ve ever played with magnets you’ll recall that feeling of putting the identical polarities together and how the two magnets repelled. You want that to happen here. It’s just a matter of moving the moon into that position. Once the moon is in that state of levitation it remains there until you unplug it. The levitation state is not broken by putting an object between the moon and the base. The only thing that breaks that magnetic levitation is to unplug it. When you do unplug this make sure you do not have your fingers or anything breakable underneath because the moon will automatically and very quickly go towards the edge of the base and be magnetized very tightly.

I bought this moon lamp and it must have been defective. I couldn't get it to work or stay on the magnet. I returned it. The manufacturer reached out to me about a month later and sent me a replacement for FREE. I was in shock. They said they thrive on customer service, and wanted to make me happy and believed in their product. I have had ZERO issues with the 2nd moon lamp, it goes right on the magnet each time, it doesn't wobble or fall off, and spins w/ colors for hours. I love it!! Please buy from this company-- they are amazing and stand by their products.

Love it, but I had some difficulty finding a place to put this that's 8" away from metal & electronics. There's a warning to keep it 8" away from your screens, phones, tablets, remote controls, magnetic tapes, wallets, credit cards, etc, so it doesn't damage them. Also keep it away from metal paper clips, hair clips, etc or it will attract them. You definitely can't sit it on top of any ferrous metal like a refrigerator or a stereo receiver, or it will vibrate like crazy. Surface should also be level for it to rotate correctly (giving it a slight spin may help if it's not completely level). Moon height above base is 0.25" (less than the photos imply), and spins at about 5 RPM. Power consumption is about 5W (regardless if light is on or off), and the adapter says it's UL-approved. It's a bit tricky to position the moon the first time (it may take a minute or two to get it positioned right the first time), but after some practice I can put it on in just a few seconds. It's a bit startling when the moon falls to the base whenever power is lost, but a magnet prevents it from falling off completely. I'm glad I picked the 18-color version; by default [after a power-cycle] the colors fade from one to the next automatically but you can use the remote to set a fixed color (the IR remote is required for that). The touch-sensitive contact on the front can be used to turn the light on or off (moon keeps rotating), it resumes the color pattern selected by the remote when the light is turned back on using this contact.

This product is beautiul and a show stopper, but if you are here to buy this to put this on a desk like I did, STEER CLEAR OF THIS PRODUCT. You may have seen the other reviews that are saying that it is frustrating to set up the lamp, and your probably thinking, "it's fine, I only have to do it once," but no. That is far from the truth. Not only does this product have to be taken off for 2 hours and then put back on every 3 days(it mentions that on the manual), it will constantly fall over even with the slightest movement of the table it is on. It's so frustrating and today alone it has happened 3 timesEDIT:The brand sent me a new lamp without us going to them. We didnt even ask them or anything, they read their reviews and came to us asking us if we wanted a replacement. 10/10 customer servicee who reads feedback and takes care of customers like family

If you buy this. BUY THE PROTECTION PLAN. I've had mine for 11 months and it has stopped working. 90 bucks down the drain. It was a birthday gift for my boyfriend last year. He loved it while it worked. Now it doesn't light up at all...Update: The sellers are AMAZING. After writing my original review, I was contacted and offered a full refund or replacement. I can not stress how awesome that is in my opinion. The sellers are under NO OBLIGATION what so ever to do this yet they've gone above and beyond anyways. Because of this I decided to give the product another chance and chose to receive a replacement. Given how great the customer service has been, I'm hoping I just got a bad unit and that the new one lasts much longer. I really didn't expect this but I couldn't be happier.
