Practically identical to the original battery
I left for a safari with my new Olympus OM-D EM-5. I wanted an extra battery for the trip in case I didn't have access to power for some time. This battery is practically identical to the one that came with the camera. It charged with the original battery charger. It seems to have about the same battery life. At this point, I can't tell which battery I have in the camera.I am glad I bought an extra battery, and I am pleased with its performance so far.

Not up to OEM, but an excellent deal.
This seems to be the only BLN-1 replacement that works with the Oly charger and gives accurate remaining power indication in the camera.Despite the higher mAh rating, it doesn't last for as many shots as the Oly battery. I rather suspect that's because they haven't completely, accurately decoded and replicated the Oly communications. It seems to last about 70-80% as long as the Oly battery. Given the price difference, that's a real bargain. I've used mine pretty extensively, and it seems as good as new.In practice, when on the road, I tend to use the Progo first, then a Wasabi. The fact that the Wasabi uses a different charger then is an advantage, as both batteries can charge at the same time. I can go to bed,and they are both charged in the morning. If I use Oly, then Progo, I have to remember to change batteries in the one charger in the night. The E-M5 has distinctly less battery life than the Pens. I suppose it the the price for the superior, 5-axis image stabilization. In any case, I carry four batteries. I think I may once have needed to start on the third one. Otherwise, two have always been enough.

Bought a set back in late 2013. They are 4 years old at this point; one won't fit in the camera and is now in the trash, the other is on the charger...doesn't appear to be alive. While these are a cheap alternative to the "real" bln-1 batteries, they are by far inferior. If you plan on buying these, plan on buying several - they last a fraction as many shots as the Olympus. But, to not steer ya clear, they do work...boy am I glad I didn't have one of those batteries stored in the camera. Also, bought a real BLN in May of following year, and it's still kicking strong.

I have two of these and they've worked well, as well as the oem battery... until this week. I found both have gotten slightly thicker such that they don't fit freely in either my EM-1 or EM-5. I foolishly forced one in not realizing how hard it would be to get it out. I was finally able to do so.Buy the oem.

Doesn't fully charge in Olympus Charger
Like virtually every 3rd party battery that is "fully decoded" this battery "works" but fails to fully charge in an Olympus charger. The charger cuts off prematurely, not reaching the full voltage of a genuine Olympus battery. This battery is labeled as 7.6V which Olympus branded batteries are rated but does not reach that voltage (thus stated capacity) in an Olympus charger. It will reach full charge in a 3rd party charger. (tested with voltmeter). It does drive the camera battery level indicator properly. Note, Olympus camera charge indicators indicate full charge, that is misleading, the camera charge indicator is not that accurate.I don't understand why these 3rd party "fully decoded" ALL fail to fully charge to the same voltage as genuine Olympus batteries do.

As good or better than the Oly battery for a much lower price. Excellent. Holds the charge longer, fits exactly as the original. Delivered as promised. Both the product and the service are axcellent.

Great price, charge on original Oly charger, and after heavy use for 17 months, still going strong.
I bought this, used it for a while and then bought a second. While they don't have the capacity of the original OEM Oly branded battery, for the price paid they are fine. Two of these and my original last me a full day of shooting. While one Oly battery can probably last longer than a pair of these, a pair of these are about half the price of one Oly original. Most importantly, these charge just fine in the original Olympus charger, so I only need one charge for all three of my batteries.I have been using these for over a year now including long family vacations this past summer and the summer before (which I bought them for) and they still work fine. I haven't noticed any reduction in capacity and I rotate them so they get equal use with the original Oly battery. Each battery has thousands of shots on them.

Progo Battery Works
Seems to need charging more often that the original OEM camera battery but it is ok as a backup battery.
