Here in rural Hawaii we are totally dependent on water catchment and water tanks for household water systems.These are absolutely wonderful as pre filters for catchment water Before it enters the holding tank.My tank stays clear and clean and debris free.The wide mouth fits over any water pipe I have and simply ties on.I know it will extend the life and performance of all the regular house filters, pump and Ultra Violet purification system and the Water heater itself.It Removes the hazard of crud and debris BEFORE it can become a problem.Fives Stars?....NO....SIXA great product with immediate positive results..I also mount these on extension poles and they act as super fine outdoor pond / reservoir skimmers / net.(The rigid plastic collar makes this easy to do.)The large opening makes using it this way quite practical.Sparkling water / clean and easy and durable and cheap and re usable and washable.

This is perfect for my sump. It isn't too thick to where I have to change it every day. I change it once a week or even two weeks. I know that isn't perfect husbandry...... But my coral grow and my salt water fish don't die. Being in the salt water hobby that says something being I have a 29 gallon tank with a 30 gallon sump. You cannot beat this price and you get CRYSTAL CLEAR water!

I have some very large tanks with large Dovii, jags and umbee, they stir a lot of junk up in their feeding and general digging. 4" socks clog in a day under the 2200 gallons per hour flow of my sumps. With these sock I can run just one sock for both overflows and still use it for a full month before clogging becomes an issue. Great value.

Just put one of these on my tank last night. Product is made very well. We will see how it holds up in the long run. I will be ordering more of these and it is a good idea to have at least a couple of weeks worth. Change every day or few days to prevent nitrate build up

The lip design has changed to a flimsy plastic that will not stay on the sock holder. Will return to buy from another vendor.
