FloTool Drain Container - 6-Gallon, Model Number 42004MI

Bought one of these in 2015 because I owned an Audi at the time that had a 5.2L V10, so I needed a larger than normal oil container. It continued to serve me well years after the Audi was gone because it can hold several oil changes from smaller-engined cars before having to be emptied into recycling. The only reason I bought another was because the drainage cap was cracked and leaking on the previous one, but this one has a much sturdier cap design. These can be heavy and bulky to maneuver once they're filled with oil, but they work very well.

Seems heavy duty, large drain and dump holes. Parts shop people sometimes do a double take when you come in to dump it in their recycle tub. Can’t blame them. Wouldn’t want someone dumping this much of anything other than dirty oil in my bin.

Does exactly what it’s supposed to. Does not leak, holds lots of oil, and overall seems to be a great value. Would buy again.

Well designed…. Was able to capture all the oil with no mess…very easy to use store oil and pour into another container for recycling …. Heavy duty plastic!

It should be easy to make a container that actually seals the drain cap, but after 20 years or so I have not found it. I'll probably make an extra O-ring or gasket and give that a try.

My drain arrived without a drain cap. Others here have had similar experiance. I contacted the seller twice and got ZIP as a responce in asking about a cap. I get it, these caps could vibrate off during transport but the drain is not shipped in a box so when the cap comes off, it's gone. I called the manufacture, Hopkins Manufacturing Corp and without hesitation, they asked for my name & address to mail a cap to me. Also, in addition to their great support, this drain is made in the USA . Thank you Hopkins!!!

Way more than you need for a normal car, but great for heavy duty mechanics
