I'd answer yes to both questions. The sound is great part is largely subjective, of course.

I cannot put my headphones in pairing mode. The diagram that came in the instructions is not the same as my headphones. How do I pair them?

Press and hold down the Bluetooth button until it flashes, and then on your device go to Bluetooth and it should be under discover devices. Then click on the device name and it should connect.
