They really work well
These glasses are amazing they really work well and are saving my neck from pain and problems I have had in the past from too much belaying. They are made of very sturdy metal and come with a tether which keeps the glasses around your neck when not in use. I wear prescription glasses and these go right in front to allow me to see everything in focus. I never have to bend my neck to look up with these. If I need to look at a knot or something else I just look above the belay glasses and I can clearly see whatever I need to. Then back to the goggles to see up the wall.

Amazing visual clarity
I have tried several pairs of belay glasses including Metolius and other brands, and the YY Classics take the cake. They are more sleek and light weight than comparable brands, and they also have the best visual clarity I have seen on a pair of belay glasses so far. They somehow improve the overall clarity of vision beyond your normal site which is quite impressive.I was able to wear my Ombraz sunglasses with them no problem!

Check the frames are straight
Mine arrived slightly bent and with either a scratch or lint under 1 lens. Other than that, they are light weight and fit both my small female head and my husband's giant one. Prisms are pretty clear and you can see above and what is happening around you. The nose peice is fairly comfortable. I still miss my Tembos which had a great angle (they had an unfortunate meeting with a rock). But when I get my replacement Y&Y they may do just as well. Will update after I get my replacement and spend some time belay slaving.

Love these
Works great!! Better than the cheaper ones, especially if you are prone to dizziness.

Well made and they work!
I did some research before buying, and I think I made the right choice. They are comfortable. The field of vision is large enough to clearly see the climber, but you still have reasonable peripheral vision. The case is well made and quite convenient (it hangs on your harness). If I lost these belay glasses, I would buy the same thing again.

Must have purchase for climbing, but only once you have some experience
Fantastic purchase, especially if your partner is doing a long route or trying a challenging one. These definitely make it easier to keep your full attention on your climber. The case is fairly rugged. Comfortable under a hat. While they don't work great with prescription or sunglasses on, it can be done. Mine have been dropped, tossed, and otherwise beat up and are still perfect. However, I only recommend using belay glasses after you've belayed without for awhile. One, it's good to get your neck used to looking up, and two if you're inexperienced you can have brief losses of line-of-sight on your climber which can be dangerous. It's also good to develop your climbing situational awareness first as well since these will obstruct your view of the ground directly in front of you (I've seen people lose track of the rope and step into a loop of it while lowering wearing belay glasses).

Frames too thin and flexible, lenses too thin
Overall, the fit and finish is nice. However, the thinness of the metal frames means they're very springy. The result is even your heartbeat flowing through the veins in the skin above your ears, where the glasses rest, causes them to subtly move on your head. Heaven help you if you bump them, because they'll vibrate back and forth, pivoting on your nose. The thin lenses that the listing touts also mean that, personally, my field of view on the climber wasn't as large as I'd like it to be. This was my opinion when compared to a cheap plastic set my climbing partner was using. So all in all, not flimsy, but also ... too flimsy. I'll be looking for a different pair.

Gutes Teil 👍
