Campbell’s Chunky Soup, Chicken and Sausage Gumbo, 18.8 oz Can (Case of 12)

I think either these or the Campbell's Chunky steak and potato soups are the best and the cans are pretty big, some people think they might be slightly expensive but I think the price is fair here on Amazon and they taste great!

I usually buy this soup at walmart. the price was better here on amazon. the soup is delicious.

I love the spicy taste, but as a diabetic, I can only eat one a week because it has almost as much sugar as a coke! But very tasty with a bit of spice!

This Gumbo has got to be the best tasting to ever come out of a can. I prefer to make various gumbo type stews from scratch at home but making the perfect roux for the base along with all of the preparation involved takes hours.This Campbell’s Chunky Chicken and Sausage Gumbo tastes surprisingly like homemade and it’s ready in about 3 minutes !Authentic Gumbo contains okra as one of the many ingredients and this Gumbo contains the perfect amount of cut okra pieces.I sometimes add a few extra Cajun spices, a dash of soy sauce, a few drops of liquid hickory, butter and some crumbled applewood smoked bacon pieces for great taste and a more meaty texture. A sprinkle of file’ (powdered sassafras) after fully heated and right before serving makes it SPECIAL ! I enjoy a bowl 5 times or more each week.You gotta try it.

This last batch was really good. They have been having some quality control issues. I had talked on the phone with the manufacturer and they seem to have corrected some of those issues with missing ingredients and lack of ingredients. With a name like Chunky, there is the expectation that there would be lots of of ingredients in the can and not too much liquid. The last batch was exceptionally good. It was nice and thick... yes... Chunky and very tasty. All the right ingredients and spices.

When the pandemic hit I bought a bunch of soup online, so I didn't have to go to the grocery store and risk getting Covid. Out of all the Campbell's soups this was and still is our favorite. I have a hard time eating anything too spicy and the spice is tolerable, not too hot. The flavor is great.
