Great if you don't need M.2.
My biggest gripe with this board wasn't the boards faut at all, but Intel's decision to remove usb support for Windows 7, if your installing 8 or above you'll be fine, but for W7 you will need an optical drive, which I haven't owned for years. The board looks great, as an ITX mini, it is ideal for portable gaming rigs, or even as a compact serving. The one issue I have is the location of the M.2 drive slot, being underneath means it has little or no cooling and as many M.2 chips get hot, especially if your running your OS off one, as I am, it will get a lot of use. I cannot think of a solution to this and will adjust my review of this creates any issue in the future. If I was gong to be very picky I would also mention the short distance between WiFi antennas limiting the direction they can be pointed in, but that is a very minor point. Also be aware there is no DVI port, only HDMI and Display port. All in all, the Z170I is a pretty good board, cool design and includes some good features like Bluetooth and external clear CMOS botton.

A very good mini itx board
A very good mini itx motherboard. Has a wide selection of ports and the colour scheme looks great. The bios is first class as well, makes changing the settings a breeze. The manual was a bit on the small side. It also doesn't seem to support installation of Windows via usb (even through the usb 2.0 ports) which is a bit of a pain. I had issues of Windows being unable to locate the correct drivers on my usb boot drive before installing so had to purchase a cheap internal DVD drive for that. The placement of ports is good and posed no issues during the build. You will need a splitter cable if you plan on having more than one case fan though, but it's a small board so I can't complain. The addition of the m.2 slot on the rear of the board is a good future proofing option. For an itx skylake build I would recommend this.

a fantastic Mini ITX board for performance/overclocking.
Pros- Fantastic BIOS- Looks the business, and the red lights in the Ethernet ports look dead cool too.- Very nice build- Masses of features in a tiny package.- The sound quality is really good.- The Intel 802.11ac and 2x antennas is a very nice touch.- A really good deal for a gaming/overclocking mobo if you need/want its features.Cons- The M.2 slot on the bottom only officially supports the shorter less common standard of M.2 drives.Overall i do highly recommend this if you want a quality ITX board for a performance/overclocking build. It seems to be of very high quality, the BIOS is insanely good and if you intend to use it for its intended purpose it comes highly recommended.

Very decent.
Almost perfect. Will keep this review short :)Used in a 6700k gaming rig.-m.2 ssd supported are only 2260, no 2280. Also the wifi can be replaced by another m2 (6cm)M.2 ssd port is below the mb and the pcie port which makes the heat transfer poor and temperature of the ssd Quickly rise to 70c.This can be fixed by adding copper shim and thermal pad on the ssd so it transfer the heat to the bottom of the case, gain is about 15 degree on full load.
