My detailed review of the Md-1001
First and foremost this tablet is a pc based tablet and cannot be compared apples to apples when considering a android tablet. While similar in nature, they are different in actuality. First example is that a pc tablet will run windows based software... an android tablet can not. You can add programs that will allow you to run android apps in windows. From a software standpoint I like the Md-1001The processor is good and it runs well, sometimes it can become laggy... but again understand it's limitations. If you want to run large programs with heavy 3D graphics or video editing, this system won't be able to keep up. If you want to watch movies listen to music, surf the web... you should find the experience satisfying. One drawback is that windows 7 is embedded (hardwired) into the motherboard, so upgrading is questionable. I have read that it is possible to upgrade some said it's not... I haven't tried so my verdict is still out.It does have a touch screen and it works well... I have found that a mouse plugged into the USB port works better. The difference is again, I don't think windows is meant to be a one button touch response. With a mouse you have a right and left click with menus that give you different options, it's harder to get a quick response when you have to hold your finger to the screen for a menu to pop up to give you that option. An android tablet's operating system is designed for the one touch response. The screen does auto-rotate (but not as smooth as an android tablet) and it seems to pick up the fingerprints easily. The system itself is heavier than a tablet, but I always feel I'll snap a tablet in two if I'm not extremely careful. This weighs about 2 pounds and is a lot thicker so it gives a more sturdy feel. Two full sized USB ports are awesome (I hate microSD). It does have Bluetooth and I did successfully pair my wireless headphones to the MD-1001. The speakers seem a little less than I would expect for something this size, but you can pair it to something with more guts if need be, or use the headphone jack and your good to go. Another plus is the expansion slots, one for a microSD card (I put a 64 Gb card in, no problem) and also a SIM card to be able to connect it through a wireless carrier. My hard drive shows a capacity of about 25 Gb, and with only a few programs installed I have about 10 Gb remaining... I think if I needed to I could take the unit apart and install a larger drive if I wanted to be, but remember the 64 Gb microSD card. The battery life isn't fantastic... about 2 hours give or take so if you're looking for mobility I would scrutinize this further. It does come with a wall and car charger, and USB-LAN connector. Why I bought it? I am a part-time disc-jockey (maybe more like a button-jockey anymore these days) where I run an automated music program through a amplifier. I wanted something simple that I could easily plug in and go. I was able to install the program (Sam Broadcaster & MySQL) and load the music library easily and it has run as expected without any major drain on the system resources. I have yet to actually use this in a working environment where it could run for 10 to 12 hours straight, but I feel it will hold up. If not, the $89.00 price tag isn't too much to take a risk, this unit originally sold for over $600.00 at one time (the unit has been discontinued by the mfg) I can plug a full sized keyboard and mouse into this system as well, or possibly a universal docking station that would allow this to function like a full PC unit with external monitor if I wanted to, but I have not tried that.My final thoughts : A great bargain priced low to mid-ranged tablet that can introduce you to the world of mobile window PCs.

not reccommended
Buy a 2016 Newest NuVision 8-inch Full HD instead, Windows 7 embedded does not get any updates from Microsoft, Screen is too reflective, and this is an older product, with limited uses. Have not tried to upgrade to windows 10 cause that would not be free. I don't regret this purchase tho, at $99.00 I will find some use for it. Solid construction, about 3/8ths in thick and heavy.

Stout tablet, needs Win10 to really run well
This is a very solid little tablet. Heavier than others, but has a rugged feel. I recommend upgrading it to Windows 10 Enterprise...it runs better overall.

It's like the Swiss Army Knife of tablets...
Considering it's only around $90.00, the MD-1001 is a great all-around tablet. In fact, it's like the Swiss Army Knife of tablets. You wouldn't want it for large programs, but it's perfect if you need a tablet for doing a lot of different things and/or need multiple options to access the internet. Also, ToteVision's Customer Service is A+.

Tablet does not have enough memory and it tells you to close applications or restart the tablet to regain memory. Also the updates do not work and the tablet has not been updated since 2012 and no new ones can be applied. Would not purchase these agai

Not even good for kiddie games.
The Tote itself looked great. The software installed was outrageously outdated and lethargic. Came with windows 7. It was slow and "unreliable" I bought it for a 8 year old and neither he nor I could get it to update, download an antivirus, or use the browser I wanted to use. So I returned it.
