Ludwig 8" x 14" Supralite Snare Drum (LU0814SL)

Killer drum at this or any price, maybe the best I’ve ever owned in decades of playing. And beautiful looks, too. Loud and powerful, cracking rim shots, but also sensitive enough for soft jazzy chops and rolls. I’m using a low-mid tuning but also sounded great at both lower and higher tunings. The brass snare strands are nice quality as is the throw-off very smooth. This drum fit right in with my big-sounding 70’s Ludwigs, right out of the box. Very happy, wish I had sprung for one sooner! The attached vid is shot on iphone and it clips out a bit, but still gives you a good idea of the great sounds this drum has.

This snare is so versatile and the pricing is unbeatable. I’d replace the top head to get better tuning as that is standard with most snare drums. No ringing and just a full body sound. Incredible.

GREAT SNARE DRUM! Don’t know why I waited so long to get one. It’s extremely versatile with tuning. You can go high or low and have great tone. Beautiful sounding snare.

La verdad. estaba esperando con ansias este producto, para probarlo y checar su sonido, aplique diferentes tipos de afinación y me impresiono, yo si se los recomiendo tanto para estudio o incluyendo para llevarlo a un concierto en vivo, igual dependerá del tipo de parche que le coloques, en mi caso yo tengo un Remo X Coated y suena genial.

By far one of the most powerful snare drums I’ve ever played, it sounds like it looks. Great for the price and has that signature Ludwig smack. Also has a really nice marching drum feel as well.
