I bought this to be used to replace the end on a Starlink antenna wire with a Cat 5 plug. In the end it worked well. The metal body is sturdy. However, it has very small wire holes when used for this purpose and it took a long time to feed in the Starlink cable without missing or crossing wires.

Good quality connectors for Cat5e or Cat6 cable. Use with any pass through style crimp tool. It is technically possible to use these connectors with a normal style crimp tool if you have a very sharp blade to evenly cut the excess wire but it's more work and defeats the purpose of using a pass through connector.

Title saus it all, these are really great, especially considering the price. Hey a good crimper so the ends cut off well and all should be good with these.

I was using a CAT6 cable with 23awg CCA solid core and a passthrough crimper. About 4 out of 10 crimps had shorts between 2 adjacent pins. Should be a no brainer to use these but there was definitely some kind of tolerance issue in the plugs causing these to short. I found that I had better results if I pushed the wires upward during crimping. I should add that the crimper may have something to do with it because it looks like the plug bends into a slight arc during crimping but I have not had any problems with non shielded plugs.Update… I pulled out my calipers to measure the actual cable conductors and was surprised to find they were only 0.9mm wide. Seeing as the connectors were meant for larger 1.08-1.16mm conductors the problem looks to be my fault. I have ordered the connectors for 1.0-1.06mm conductors (smallest shielded connector i could find) and will try again. I increased the star rating from 3 to 4 until I see how the smaller connectors work.

These are very cheap. My first job using them I had to use over twenty just to get 10 good ones.As I pushed the wire through the copper pins just fall out of the plastic completely rendering them useless. Never see this happen before on any end these must be made cheaper than others and it definitely shows. I would not purchase if I had to do it again. I would say over half are garbage and not useable at all.
