I've owned numerous tampers over the past 25 or 30 years but this one is the best yet. It's hard to believe that the right tamper can make a difference in how your espresso shot is brewed, but it definitely does. Great weight, FLAT BOTTOM (which I believe is far superior to the convex shape), and not some cheap steel that has been chromed over and eventually the chrome chips into your portafilter. I highly recommend this 58mm tamp.

Nothing beats this for its price. The shop I work at has a custom built group on the steam tank and our baskets are 54mm. This fits very nicely. It has an excellent if non traditional handle. The heft of it is the selling point. Very little extra effort us needed for our tamp... but our shop has a few weaker employees that struggled with the amount of pressure needed to tamp correctly. Our previous aluminum tamps just weren't working. This one is perfect, will be purchasing another soon and probably a third for backup.Canmot beat the price for the quality.

This tamper is tall, about 4 inches, so you have to tamp like you write your name. It is heavy and nice . It is tall which makes it easier to find and grab. It fits my 58mm Unic portafilter perfect as Unic runs with steeper filter sides which binds a 58 mm tamper. I love this tamper. Will last a few lifetimes. There are $10 ones, but this one is worth the extra money.

I bought this (54mm) for my Breville Barista Express because other reviewers said that it fit the 54mm portafilter. It does not, otherwise it is a great product, it weighs 13oz/371g and is well built.

I ordered a 58mm and though it fits nicely in my filter it has an imprint with "57mm" on it. Good grip and heavy feel. I have small hands so it fits nicely, it may get lost in your palm if you have large hands. I subtracted 1 star because of the confusing mm number.

Works great and and the 54mm fits the filters on my Breville Barista Express perfectly.

Just make sure the head size is the size for your portafilter, very well made product that's quite heavy and gets the job done.
