Technology Research AECM20020 Digital Monitor

This is a excellent voltage monitor. I use this in my travel trailer to monitor the polarity of the campground electricity feed. This will show low voltage and high voltage. It has a alarm for a no ground situation. This is a excellent instrument to monitor you electrical situation.It doubles as a night light for the kids while camping,well built and accurate. I can't say enough about it. I recommend it if you travel around the country to make sure the various electrical systems in campgrounds are working correctly.Thanks!

It does what I was looking for.

The product user interface is poorly designed. The monitor must be installed at eye level to read the display and see the status light. The fault alarm sounds only once and for 5 seconds. You must be within ear-shot of the device when a fault occurs otherwise you will miss the alarm. Product support is poor. I called with a technical question and was greeted by voice mail. I left a message and have not been called back yet. I am now using a night-light to monitor a critical circuit. It works great; if the light is on the circuit has power. I put tape over the night light sensor so it is always on. The night light cost a few dollars compared to nearly $50 for the AECM20020 Digital Monitor.

As an RV inspector, I use this tool to test the output of the on-board generators on RV's. I also use it to verify correct voltage and frequency at campgrounds before I plug in my coach. Thus far it has performed well and has been reliable and accurate. I would highly recommend it for this type of use.

This unit has saved me three times when the voltage has gone too low at RV parks...twice from too much electricity demand during the summer and once from a faulty circuit breaker. All three times could have lead to severe damage to air conditioners or other appliances. The audible tone alerted me to the problem so I could correct and troubleshoot it immediately. I've also used it to monitor and adjust generator voltage. I like this better than the surge protectors that will cut off your electricity if it goes too high or low because it does not give you an opportunity to find and correct the problem or use electricity for items where it does not matter if the voltage if a little off.

Unit is well constructed, easy to use and read. Highly suitable for use as a residential electrical power monitor.

An easy to use device that will give you accurate readings (I double-checked readings against my Fluke meter). Simply plug and read!

Saved me from melting a plug. Bad ground. Plug was so hot, couldn’t touch it.
