Lucas Oil 40009 Transmission Fix - 710ml

Fixed the gearbox leak in my Fiat Panda 2011 1.2 manual. Do yourself a favour after unscrewing the top put a small hole in the foil seal then stand in a pan of simmering water for an hour, a rubber tube easily fits over the conical shaped end. I managed to put half of this to the existing oil no problem, gotta squeeze hard though. It was possible to move the breather pipe away from the air filter housing and push tube up through the engine bay and other end in gearbox do it stood up. Hope that makes sense.

I have tried various gearbox oil additives and found not many are for bad gearbox syncros. Like its not going to repair something that is already broken. Even Redline’s Shockproof gear oil failed to cure/mask my failing syncros. Additives like Molybdenum are too slippery for gears in higher quantities therefore I can’t use this for something which has issue gripping to begin with. I was originally going to use the Lucas Oil Stabiliser until I saw a video on YouTube conducted by ProjectFarm who showed improvements of an automatic gearbox gripping gears better with the Lucas Stop Slip additive. Therefore, I was convinced that this might do the trick. The car I used this in is a Nissan Skyline R33 GT-R. It says to use two bottles for badly worn transmissions. Considering I could still get into all gears, some with crunching, i figured I’d try 1.5 of a bottle for the gearbox and split the remaining of the bottle, so 0.25 of a bottle in each differential (front and rear). Alongside Lucas Gear Oil 80w90. Something just overall thick and consistent. This did just the trick! 3rd and 4th gear syncro crunch cured! Its not buttery smooth, still might need to double clutch to get into first gear from neutral for example but its definitely an improvement when driving! If you are looking for an additive to help prolong the life of failing syncros or worn transmissions. I recommend buying this to keep the car running until you can either replace/repair the gearbox.

I have an old VW with a 6 sp zf box about 150k...even though I've done 3 fluid changes, filters, I still get the old owl whoop noise....even using lifeguard 6...drained out 1 lite of the old crap, mixed up the squeak stop with 0.5 litre of new arf fluid, this stuff IS VERY THICK AND HEAVY, takes a while to get liquid, then pumped it in...a day later, massive improvement in torque converter judder at 1 - 2k... A classic issues on the zf 6sp box... This should keep it going till I scrap the car, but the driveability is so much better ... Worth the effort, just hope it lasts a few years !!

Solved immediately my shudder and slip in cayenne turbo transfer case. Mixed 40/60 with atf Definitely worth a go

This is a lubricant!.. what does it do? It lubricates. This not a PART or a TOOL.. so don’t expect a miracle like Moses that you a chosen one. In many cases it will not work for you.

Remove the sump and put the contents in. Then add the ATF. It's faster, cleaner and easier. It sits in the ATF sump pan until warmed up. Don't over do the amounts or the solenoids WILL struggle to push it through.

Recommend. Used for noise manual gear box. Very good result.

Previous owner neglected the powershift transmission. Changed fluid and filter but that did not improve the rough shift in 1st gear. Added all of this bad boy to transmission and shifting like a charm now. Highly recommended!
