Excelente Smartplug

Versatile plug
I have both model 103 and 125 plugs. The 103 keeps track of run time, the 125 energy usage. There’s a separate app called watts that lets you reset to zero the cumulative total, otherwise I prefer the Kasa app. I used these to automate turning on and off electric blankets. I also have one on my lawn irrigation to shut it off when it’s unwanted, the rain sensor is far from perfect and I don’t want to run out to the shed to get to the control box. I have another on my crawl space dehumidifier. There are times I want to turn it off, say for possible de-icing, and I don’t want to go crawling under the house. These plugs are somewhat sensitive to the electrical outlet used and WiFi reception. They can work perfectly at some spots and not so good at others. I had one that seemed defective until I plugged it in beside one that worked perfectly. The questionable one worked perfectly at the relocated spot. The button on the side makes it easy to cycle it without having your phone with you. I did spend $20 to get a second WiFi router closer to the backyard shed for the irrigation control plug to work reliably. That solved the inconsistent switching issue. These plugs are compact and when located well with respect to your WiFi, are a great convenience. The Kasa app works well, other than lacking a reset for totals used.

Excellent product, excellent vendor
The TP-Link Kasa KP115 smart plug with energy monitoring is a beautifully designed product. Unlike the smart switches from "Top Greener", the KP115 retains its ON/OFF setting over a power failure, whereas the Top Greener always comes back to life in OFF state. What a disaster if you are connected to a fridge or freezer! I wish the KP115 provided more useful energy data, such as plotting the energy consumption over time, and not just the minimalist information provided. But the product is high quality and well designed. Also, the vendor, Hot Deals 4 Less, promised delivery Oct 14-19, and actually delivered on Oct 3. That is superb service.I would not hesitate to buy Kasa smart switches, or other products, from Hot Deals 4 Less again!

Kasa plug not compatible with Smart life app
You need the Kasa app to use this plug. The Kasa plug is not compatible with Smart life app so I needed yet another app to use this plug. If you have another TPLink app then just log in without creating another account. I found this out the hardway. To bad they don't tell you that before trying to create an account. Just another frustration in using apps that are not user friendly. After installing the plug in the Kasa app, Alexa did not automatically connect to the plug. Compare these annoyances to installing BN-Link plugs with SmartLife app and auto connect to Alexa. Kasa 2, BN-Link 9. Pay the extra dollar for the BN-Link 4 pack and avoid the frustration.Otherwise, the plug appears to work fine. It responded well to Alexa voice command. It is a little cheaper (see above) and is slightly smaller than the BN-Link plug. All in all a 4 star rating, losing a star for user interface issues.
