Essential guide to the Rebel T4i/650D
This is the best guide I have ever seen for the Rebel. I have three others and they all have their good features, but this is a superb guide for the beginner and the Rebel owner who has been able to limp along ok with the camera. The author is extremely thorough and covers all aspects of the camera with simple, easy to follow steps. The other guides I have seem to have just added the touch screen features of this amazing camera as an afterthought--as though updating a Word file that had started with earlier versions of the Rebel. But this guide shows the reader how unleash the power of the touchscreen. She does the same for all the features. There are photographs which further explain what she says on every page of the book. And, instead of dismissing the simple camera settings the way other guides do, she shows how to exploit their strengths. So, don't delay, buy it! This will be the best camera guide you've ever purchased.

Works for the Rebel SL1 as well
I bought this book when I purchased the T4i, but then cancelled the T4i and got the SL1 instead. I found that nearly everything in it also applied to the SL1, Only on the very rare occasion was there a button or procedure intended for the T4i that didn't apply to the SL1. Since this was my first DSLR, I read though the book two or three times with my camera in my hands to learn to use all of the camera functions and capabilities. It is very clearly written, and easy to read. Some of the major functions are introduced in the early chapters, and then explained in more detail later on, and I rather wish those would have been combined to make things clearer, but that was a very minor issue. Overall a very good book to use in learning about the camera.

Useful & Readable
While not as funny as some of the other "Dummies" books I've read, "Canon EOS Rebel T4i/650D For Dummies" has been informative and an easy read. Like the title itself, the prose is utilitarian. ("Canon EOS Rebel T4i/650D For Dummies" doesn't exactly roll off the tongue.). Where possible, Ms. king makes Canon's rather opaque labeling more comprehensible and memorable. Where that's not possible, she shrugs and admits she didn't create the labels.I keep my T4i at my side as I read it so I can try each of the procedures Ms. King describes. Doing so helps me to remember more of what I'm reading, and I'm using it in the field.I've had my T4i for three weeks and have already taken some awesome photos. I'll take some of the credit (well, a lot of it!); some is a function of this awesome camera. I'll also give Ms. King credit for helping me get there so quickly. She's helped me fall in love with my camera!

THE PERFECT GO-TO GUIDE!
I ordered this book as a suplement to a beginners online photo class. WOW! Julie Adair King has this camera nailed, and her lessons on general photography topics are invaluable! What a great go-to guide. I am not reading it cover to cover, but rather in short topics and subjects that are of interest to me at the time. I've really enjoyed just randomly opening the book to find a new tip about my specific camera that I probably would have never learned with the true owners manual and users guide. The PICTURES ARE FABULOUS and correspond well to the point she is teaching. The new camera is fantastic, and after just a few days with the Rebel "Dummies Book" I am happy to report that I have totally weaned myself from the "auto" button. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for all new Rebel T4i cameras. You will never open that little owners manual again!

An Excellent, In-depth Resource on the T4i
The Dummies book explains everything about the Canon 4Ti in depth. I'll never use a lot of the features of the 4Ti (which is a GREAT camera) but if I do want to understand an unused capability I can learn about it in this book. The book is very approachable. (I guess the dummies title gives a clue to that.) It takes the reader through a through a step-by-step approach.I actually bought two copies over time. I loaned one to a friend and I don't think she wants to give it back since she uses it a lot, so I took the path of least resistance and purchased another copy since I value it that much.

Great primer for Canon Rebel T4i/650D
The basic instructions were easier to comprehend than the manual that came with the camera. It was a very forthright introduction and step by step with photos. The book also contained a lot of advanced applications and techniques which as a new owner of a SLR Digital camera were difficult to comprehend, but with experience and practice will probably be quite helpful. The author is very knowledgeable and occasionally talks over the head of newcomers. I would reccomend this book to any new owner of the subject camera. I have found all of the Dummies series to be very informative.

So Much Better Than The Factory Manual
The T4i was my first DSLR, so I needed all the help I could get. This book is very well done, and its infinitely better than the Canon manual and software. After reading the whole thing (and re-reading a bunch of it), I'm using some pretty advanced features of the camera that I would have never experimented with otherwise. I would recommend the paper version over the e-book version in this case. I've found that the e-book format doesn't work well for reference manuals in general. I wish I could just flip to the section I want. Well done and highly recommended!

Great Book!!
I have owned 2 previous rebel cameras in the last 6 years and decided to upgrade to the T4i this year. I thought if I purchased this book that it could make me aware of the changes from the T1i. I was amazed to find out that there were many things I did not know how to do with my camera. I am amateur photographer and have taught myself how to use my canon's by using the instruction manuals provided. This book has helped me so much My only regret is I did not purchase the Rebel T1i for dummies.

Beginners help.
This is a really useful book for beginners with this camera. I was new to digital SLR photography so got the 650D as a good entry level camera. This book is so easy to use and is worded so average Joe can understand. This is not a patronising book though, just straight forward, but still full of information. I sat going through this book with my camera and it really helped me to understand all of the different functions and buttons to help you make the most of your camera. I looked at many manuals and books for this camera and this was the most complete and user friendly for my needs. I still use it to refresh my understanding of what I'm doing and for tips etc. Very pleased with my purchase and no problems with seller.

Great book for a beginner
I have bought this camera by sharing the cost 50 50 with my girlfriend. I know a little bit but she wants to learn as a beginner. This is good as it matches the camera exactly so everything is relevant to the camera she is now using. Still useful if you don't have this model of camera but there is a dummies book for digital SLR which may be better for you if you want something more generic and not model specific.

Snap
Not a bad book, I got this for my girlfriend along with the camera. It lays everything out clearly, although it does repeat a lot of what is in the camera manual (but with colour pictures). Some other useful bits, good for beginners but will need to invest in another guide once she's learnt the basics.

Avoid the confusion of other books
This book allows you to get to know the camera in a steady progression, rather than being bombarded with too many confusing instructions & diagrams. You don't have to be a dummy to appreciate the book, just be someone who is using a new technology.

Excellent
Compliments the Kindle version. Can't beat a document like this in paper format, when it's a manual or instruction book
