The USB drive worked fine. However, when I opened the drive it contained a CD. Like a pearl held within an oyster. It appears to be a music mix CD of 'Lori's top 102 R/R Songs'. Not 99. Not 100. 102! Well I figured somebody's kid sister filled it with Taylor Swift Girl Power songs. Maybe rap perhaps. One doesn't know. So I dropped my daughter off at University and on the ride home I played the CD because my ancient 2013 Ford Fusion actually came with a DVD drive. MY GOD! It's primarily an 80's music CD with some 70'S stuff tossed in there. As a child of the 80's myself I almost cried. It started with Aerosmith 'Sweet Emotion' and 'Walk this Way'. Segued to 'Heat of the Moment' followed by 'White Wedding' by Billy Idol. Lori goes hard. I haven't had a chance to experience all 102 songs but there's also some Elvis Presley and The Doors 'People are Strange' which is on the nose for this era in America. It's not a perfect canon. In the middle of several Eagles songs she injected Cold Play, right out of the blue, which nearly provoked me to lose control of the automobile. Still, it's enough to say that Lori is a magnificent human being. This CD is more valuable than the enclosing USB drive which will only be used on rare occasions. I'll play this CD far more often So sure. Buy DVD drives from this guy

Seems to be a good unit so far. I purchased this to RIP DVD;s, have not tried as a Burner yet, and not sure that I will. This is a very high quality unit that seems to be sufficiently fast and is very compatible and easy to use. Has Standard storage of any CD or DVD, so the storage is the same. Unit functions well in Burning as well as Play Back. No Compatibility issues and I have not tried the playback issues yet!

So far it works well to download files but seems slow and stops if you try to download a whole DVD. If you download a only a few folders at a time, it is very fast. I have not yet tried to burn any CDs or DVDs, but I'm hopeful. A longer cable to connect the drive to the desktop would be useful. Having cable storage is nice for transportation with my laptop .

I do not recommend purchasing from this company I caution. I purchased this machine to burn a cd and have an external cd DVD drive. I tried every which way to get it to work. It will not register on my Mac. I called Amazon who put me in touch with the company through email as they did not leave a Number to be reached at. From now on I am never buying again from a company that doesn’t have a number to be reached at for Customer Service right off the bat. And I don’t think that Amazon should be dealing with companies like this it’s a pain in the neck and it doesn’t work so not a good look for Amazon either. The company themselves through the email scheduled a time and date to meet with me of their choosing. Apple said they would call me afterwards to check How it went. They did not so far as I can tell. I did get a letter from the company making suggestions as to how I could make it work. But in the letter they also said, if you need any other help please contact us, as if they had never made the appointment with me. I wrote back saying I hope you will keep your appointment with me as I will try these things but I imagine I will need the help. I tried what they suggested and sure enough it did not help. One of the plugs is just for Power. The other plug is the one to plug into my computer directly. The machine does not turn on without the power plug being plugged in. However their recommendation was that I plug in the cord to the computer first as the computer would not register the CD DVD player unless I did that first. It seemed counterintuitive since there is not enough power for the machine to turn on … why would it be able to register on my computer if it’s not even on. Nonetheless I tried it that way and it still did not work even when I plugged the cord from the external cd DVD drive into my computer first and then plugged the power cord into the wall. It just would not register onto my computer. Which of course makes sense since it didn’t even turn on that way. The only way it turns on it with the power cord which does nothing but turn on the power. It will not suffice even if I connect the other cord once the power is on, To my computer. My computer just simply does not recognize this machine. Do not buy to use on a Mac at least as it will not work.

I've owned many DVD read/write drives but this is my first that has all of the other connections in the back. It's really like owning a USB, and SD card hub in addition to the disc drive features. As I find myself using discs less and less, this makes the drive more useful and important to me. I think the value for money compared to a regular disc only drive is easy to see. The drive was super easy to setup. Just connecting it to the computer was all it took on my Windows 11 system. The discs are one drive letter and if a USB or SD card is connected, it has its own drive letter. I love that everything can be in something this small of a size.

I purchased a MINISFORUM MiniPC UM780 XTX, with ORIGBELIE External CD DVD Drive, on 7 February 2024 and am extremely happy with both. Bought the top-of-the-line UM780 which is superfast to startup/sleep/shutdown/reboot, load programs and files, WiFi access the Internet, process data, WITH plenty of FAST STORAGE and RAM, open/save/close/work between any/many files/types, beautiful screen redraws/multiple windows, access/backup to my 2TB Toshiba Canvio external drive, never pauses in its synchronisation of data to my OneDrive account in the cloud... lots of ports and plugin options, such a sweet PC! And with a new HDMI cable, it lets my aging monitor display like new again (next on my list to update, then run both!). The ORIGBELIE is an excellent choice for external portable CD/DVD drive-burner/USB hub for the odd bit of current (and older) media access, with another bunch of modern ports/options too. Slimline, well made, quiet, fast, smooth running/opening/closing and so dependable. I also love the colour-changing graphic tiger face on my MINISFORUM MiniPC UM780 XTX. Why not! A cute modern take on friendly, personable technology. Price: well, what an absolute bargain for everything this smart little beast does so fast, so easily, so well. Both items through Amazon Australia were easy to buy, track, securely collect from my choice of suburban delivery lockers nearby, and well packaged for transport!
