I call it the hanging ball because my kitten almost died about an hour ago. I just got out of the shower and heard wheezing noises, run out to find him hanging there with the ball wrapped around his neck. He couldn't move and would have been gone if I hadn't heard him.While he does love playing with the post, he runs and jumps at the ball, I feel it is way too dangerous. It wasn't the first time he has been wrapped up in the string, but never by the neck before.

Was not to happy the arm to the ball that hangs down broke off in 2 days would not buy this again or recommend this either

My cat loves it but it broke on the part with ball. He doesn’t scratch it though :/ I wish he would.

This ended up being a little smaller than I had planned, it's more suitable for a kitten than a cat, but I have a kitten so for now it's ok. My problem with this design is the cat toy hanging by a string. At first I thought it was going to be a good toy for my kitten except that after about a week he ended up getting the string wrapped around his paw and couldn't get it out without my help. The second incident was much worse, this time the string got tangled around his neck and was choking him. Luckily I was home and I quickly cut the string off from the post. It's too bad because my kitten didn't really use the scratching post that much, he just like batting at the toy hanging from the string. So basically this thing is sort of useless now since I cut it, but clearly I had no choice. Not a horrible product, but just didn't work out for me. If you have a kitten, you might want to consider another scratching post or cutting the string and toy off from this one.

I just got two 9 week old kittens two days ago. I got this toy in preparation for their arrival. They are both obsessed with it!! Endless entertainment and perfect for scratching. My little girl loves to sit on top of it & claw at the toy from above too! Very happy with purchase!! Easy to put together.

Only lasted a couple months before the arm broke and I had to throw it away

Maybe it's my fault, but this is way too short for my adult cats. It would likely be fine for a kitten.

The post is a lot shorter than it looks, it tips over super easy because the base is not weighted down enough and the part that sticks out with the ball on it is super flimsy, it feels like it's going to break off at any moment. I have another scratching post that was similar in cost that does not tip over at all, is super durable and strong, and is taller. I am pretty disappointed with this one.
