Great product
I teach CPR and these are my go to for First Aid training and use. Versatile and sturdy.

For the price it is perfect.
I bought this just as a toy for my son's doctor pretend kit, and it is perfect for that and more. If you are used to SAM splints this definitely isn't that. There is a definite difference in quality. The quality for this one is okay and the strength is okay. I have no doubt it would do the job should I need it to. (For play time it is perfect) I am planning to purchase another one just to throw into my first aid kit in the car just in case. But if you are in a profession/in a place where you see a lot of injuries that need this, or are taking it for the backcountry- into the mountains/hiking-- I don't know if these are the ones for you, it would do fine, but SAM would be better.

Wider than expected. Probably not super durable
The splint is larger than I envisioned, at 4 1/4 inches wide. The foam extends about 1/4 of an inch beyond the aluminium on each side, but still provides adequate support and a sturdy splint. The foam covering in particular does not seem to be as durable as that on a Sam Splint, but seems adequate for whatever first aid interventions you might need. The splint ships flat. I have rolled it up to reduce the surface area exposed to wear and tear in my backcountry kit. The instructions state that you can cut it if you want, but I would be worried about a sharp aluminium edge, so I have not tried it. However, I can imagine it would make a useful finger splint if required. As several other reviews have mentioned, it's not quite as stiff as a Sam Splint. However, with adequate padding and compression in a backcountry scenario, it would be a very useful addition to any kit. For a significantly lower price than overpriced Sam Splints, it's a fantastic deal. Bottom line: I would recommend it to anyone supplying a moderate to advanced first aid or first responder kit. Buying a more expensive model is not really worth the extra expense in my opinion.

Versatile... Compact... Great Buy
This product is very good to help build out a good med kit. I carry extra just in case I need to help others who may be injured on my long hikes and trail runs. Fantastic for splinting legs, arms... whatever. My older brother, a professional Paramedic, used one of his when he was enjoying a children's soccer game and a little girl broke her arm (rough little girls!). He pulled his out of his vehicle and had her arm immobilized by the time the Ambulance showed up. Having this item at the right time will make you popular and will get you free drinks... Highly recommend!

Just what I needed
Great to have in every day or backpack. These are the knock off but just as good. Strong but flexible. Can be cut to side and shaped. No complaints

Nice and stiff
I carry this with me when I am mountain biking. I have only had to use it once when I went over my handle bars 15mi from home. I hurt my wrist pretty badly and between this and some self adherent wrap I was fine getting home. I couldn't ride the trail with it, but after I got back to the road it worked well enough to ride. and was comfortable enough to sleep in before I went to urgent care the next day. After this experience I always make sure I have it when I leave home. My one complaint about it was that with only one good hand it was very difficult to get the plastic wrap off of it to use it, so you may want to open it as soon as you get it.

Looks and feels great - hope never to use - but it looks good
These seem great - I have not seen or used the more expensive brand name, but these look good for the price. Instead of rolled, I flattened and folded once and it fits in my pack much better than a roll. Today I am hiking with teenagers who like to rock scramble by the river, with any luck one will sprain or break something and I can try the split out. (just kidding) When hiking by myself with hiking poles I do not bring as large a med kit so this stays home, but every full stock med kit should have one of these. There are also probably a million good uses for these that are not medically related to repair or support some aspect of broken camping equipment.

good generic emergency splint
I've carried one of these in my Scouting backpack for years. My strong recommendation is to unroll it flat, fold it to whatever length fits best, mold it to match to the curve of your spine, then stuff it down the back pocket as a comfortable stiffener to your pack. It weighs practically nothing, helps support the internal frame and is easily accessible if you ever have an emergency. It can be molded into several different configurations to splint a leg, an arm, even a temporary cervical collar if you know how. These generics get top ratings for value and function. I miss having the instructions printed on the foam, though (something I've only seen on the official SAM splints). Blank is fine for me because I've used them for years. They are a little less helpful for my Scouts who will have to use it when I'm the one with the broken leg.
