This pattern book has even more cute clothing than the last! These are more summer oriented, so I bought it at the wrong time of year. I will be making some of it anyway. The only problem that I have with any of Yoshiko Tsukiori and other Japanese design books is that you have to buy pattern paper and trace the patterns - not too big of a hassle (lets you keep a permanent copy of all clothes in all sizes) but then you have to add the seam allowance to that. Many times I have wished I had one of those old rolling rulers they used to have on tv. It took me an hour to prepare the pattern and it took me just over 2 to make the garment. 1/3 of construction time should not be spent on preparing the pattern!

Wonderful!
Such sweet, easy to wear designs. I think this book is great, and a person could make some lovely outfits using it. Sizes are small, it only goes up to a 34" bust, but that is my only complaint.

Book came in great condition and was shipped quickly. I can't wait to start sewing up some of these designs!

Beautiful book... Some experience required
I am obsessed with Japanese sewing books! The clothing is natural with clean lines. The pattern process takes a little getting used to, and the sizes do run smaller than American sizes, but the patterns are easy to adjust if you have the experience.

I'm glad I bought it!!
Nice book and patterns just as other reviewers have said. Simple patterns that can be made as shown or really personalized, embellished, funked up....whatever inspiration you have!

Simple, if you like the style
I have found this book easy to follow. I'm not great at tracing the patterns but got there in the end.Obviously the dresses, skirts and tops are of a certain style which the 'search inside' will show you. I agree that the sizing is small but I would expect that. A lot of the patterns recommend 'liberty tana lawn' but I substituted with less expensive fabric from my local shop. For the bias binding I used shop bias binding in a complementary colour rather than the self fabric suggestedPersonally I love most if the items in the book and my optimistic side would make over half the items, my realistic side will tell me that I don't have time!

Worth a look
I haven't used any of the patterns yet but the explanations are good and the clothes are lovely. I am not a novice sewer so I can't say how easy the clothes would be to make. I came across this at a Design Festival and it interested me far more than the books to accompany the Sewing Bee.

Stylish Dress Book: Clothing for Everyday Wear
Really interesting but simple designs in a variety of sizes. As the clothes are mainly loose-fitting they will easily fit a good range of women. The styles are easy to construct as an experienced sewer but may prove a little challenging for new dressmakers
