Disappointing Range, Update
So far the range on this one is poor even with the external antennas. The housing looks to be superior and weather tight. I have no doubt that it will stand up to harsh conditions but the range seems to be about 100 ft.Since reporting my 3 star review I have worked with the unit a lot more and made progress, so I am changing this to a 4 star rating. Rather than fighting obstructions I extended my antenna to get it in the clear and the reception has improved. It is unlikely that I will test the customer connectivity limits and my concerns are with weatherproofing and range.I will also contact NETGEAR to check on the firmware updates and to see if a more powerful POE injector will help with signal strength. I am still confused about the lack of antenna availability here in the US and having to order them from France, but I have them now after a 6 week delay.

Works great off of our HP procurve poe switch
Works great off of our HP procurve poe switch. We get solid signal over 100 yards from the building. Reliable in all weather so far (tested in snow and rain, and temp range 20-100 degree F ). Easy to setup.

Inaccurate Claims
Terrible range. It could not cover an 1800 sq.ft. house; dropped the signal significantly as it had to pass through one wall. The claim to fame is that it has an internal heater, so if you live in Siberia or Alaska, the mechanism won't freeze!!!!!! I recommend CISCO AIRONET 2602I STANDALONE - WIRELESS... for a superior performance; and it is cheaper as well.

Fantastic Product!
I received this product for free as part of NETGEAR Friends and Family Program.I operate a small business in which there is an employee lounge, as well as an outdoor waiting area for customers. My current set-up has a very weak wifi signal in that area, and I receive the occasional complaint about slow speeds, and trouble staying connected to internet. The NETGEAR WND930 is a fantastic solution for extending, and providing stable wifi over a large area. The WND930 is IP67 rated which means that it is water as well as dust tight. That means it is perfect for outdoor areas without having to worry about any damage from the weather. It comes will a wall mount as well as a pipe/post mount so that it can be mounted in a high, out of the way location so that your customers wont even know it is there. It has internal antennas so that it is about as inconspicuous as it gets. I live in Texas where freezing temperatures aren't much of an issue, but it does come with an embedded heater, so there should be absolute peace of mind with leaving this outdoors. I have this mounted where it is mostly in the shade, but does receive full sunlight about 90 minutes a day. The temperature has hit 100 degrees the last 4 days in a row, and the unit is still operating perfectly.Sometimes small business owners, and non-techy people can be intimidated by "business class" electronics. Some feel like you need an IT department in order to install such products. That's not the case with this access point. Installation took me about 15 minutes, of which half was spent mounting it to a surface. It is powered by a PoE port, so be prepared for that. Other than that, the software walks you through the set-up which took all of about 5 minutes. Remarkably easy. The product has been in operation for just over a week now, and I have intermittently asked customers if they had any trouble with their internet usage. 100% of the people I have asked told me that the signal was strong and easy to connect to. That's a large improvement from what I had before.Again, for an outdoor mounted product, whether it be by your pool, your hotel, your restaurant patio, etc... this is an excellent value. It comes with a 2 year warranty as well as unlimited tech support, so even if I do end up having an issue (which I don't foresee), I feel like I will be taken care of. For a bullet proof product, with the outdoor specs this product boasts, and a 2-year warranty, I feel like this is a great value that I would recommend to anyone.

Great for outdoor coverage and easy to setup
I received this product for free from Netgear as part of a review and test program.Setup: A breeze to setup, once you plug it in it goes out and gets an address on your network and you can easily login to the web interface to configure all your settings. All the settings were pretty easy to find and configure, although the layout is a little clunky and not very intuitive. That is an issue with most Netgear products I’ve used, they must have the same team designing them for all devices.Range: This device has great range! You get around half the speed you would get from your main wifi router, but it will go about 250 feet in my experience before the signal really starts to drop. I tested in a suburban neighborhood and was able to walk 5 houses down the street and still pick up a decent signal even without the external antennas attached. The devices final place will be in a more remote area with less interference so the range with probably be even better.Other thoughts: Enterprise level security, monitoring and Syslog reporting are great additional features that make this device great for small businesses and for people placing the device in public places that need extra security. It’s a great combination of easy setup and advanced extra features for those that want them.
