Great Antenna for Suburban area!
What can I say, the Marathon Metro is doing an outstanding job!The antenna is set up on the bottom level of our bi-level home. So, while not completely below ground level, it is definitely not the most optimal place to set up an antenna. However, out of necessity, this is what we had to settle on, and it is definitely performing very well for us.We are about 15-20 miles from most of the towers in our market, and the Metro is pulling in around 45 channels. Most impressively, it is providing us with our local CBS affiliate, which is transmitting in VHF. This station is normally very problematic, but this antenna is getting the job done, for sure.Setup is a breeze, and the antenna looks great! It comes with a stand, which is very easy to attach, and the footprint for this thing is not too large. We have not had to contact tech support, but the instructions that came with the unit are definitely sufficient to get it set up properly. All in all, this seems like an outstanding antenna for a suburban/metro area like ours, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is thinking about cutting the cord on those crazy cable/satellite bills!

This thing rocks!
Set and forget. A thing of beauty. Proof that the multi-path works is mine is pointed 90 degrees counter clockwise to my local towers instead facing them as my old ClearStream antenna was. Be sure to lower the rabbit ears, they call them dipoles, to their full stop as I’m not sure there is not metal to metal contact in them. When one was slightly raised the signal got fuzzy. Also the instructions say the front and back are the same. Not. There are a lot of appurtenances on the back which interfered with some of my UHF channels, one in particular. I wound up replacing the supplied coaxial cable with one with better shielding as there’s was light, cheap connectors, and felt like it was made of ocean plastic. The electronics seem good as there is a red status indicator both on the power supply and the antenna when it’s set and I have a 5g tower a few blocks away. Not too shabby. I’ve been trying to get our 1st and original local channel for decades, VHF channel 3, low power,, with every possible combo of amplified, rooftop, indoor, filtered, mousetrap. This puppy flat out works.

I'm not seeing a difference between Amazons Basic Antenna
So it was easy to install, its very large and im not really seeing a difference between the channels i get between this and the amazon basics one. What i like about this better is that i can mount it or place it on top of something as opposed to having to stick it somewhere. Other than that i think it may be overpriced if you just need an antenna for one tv.

Works well if positioned in the right location
I paired this up with a Fire TV Recast. I had issues with reception, when the antenna was positioned on the first floor. After placing the antenna and Recast on the second floor next to the window, I was able to obtain good reception of CBS, NBC, and finally ABC!!!

Good but not great
First, we all know that every single TV antenna installation is different: distance and difficulty of signal path, height, feedline, the TV tuner's sensitivity, so on. So this is how this antenna works for me; your own experience may be different. The build quality is OK except that mine arrived broken. One of the horizontal antenna elements was broken off the case. I've got it put in place temporarily with tape.Performance is also OK--not groundbreaking, not great, not terrible. I've been comparing this antenna against one of those flat "leaf" style amplified antennas, which I bought for $25 a year or two ago from amazon. Both antennas are mounted in the same place, side by side. The Marathon antenna pulls in a few more channels than the much cheaper leaf antenna (38 channels vs 34, in my setup.) But it does not receive my local PBS station, only 22 miles away. The leaf, in the same place and height, does get that station, though the signal isn't always strong. For comparison, a "CeeKay" LPDA tv antenna ($30 on amazon a few weeks ago) outside on a 20-foot mast gets 48 channels, including PBS with good signal strength. If you CAN easily put up an outside antenna, it will almost always work much better than any indoor antenna.I paid $100 for the "Marathon" antenna, and in my own setup it is not significantly better than the $25 leaf antenna I compared it to. It might work better in other setups, but based on my own experiment, I would not recommend it.

Good Signal and Nicer looking than normal antenna
I mounted this antenna on a pole in my backyard in view (within feet) of our neighborhood's golf course 17th fairway and in view of my house, so I didn't want something ugly, and needed it to access TV towers about 40mi away. This served those two purposes quite well. It is "relatively artistic" and non-intrusive looking for an antenna, and served up 61 stations (better than other antennae I've had). Having both the indoor and outdoor mounting part options included and good instructions also was professional.

This OTA antenna is great!
I live in suburb of San Francisco (Bay area). Tried multiple OTA antennas with no good result. Finally tried the Maraton Metro and it worked perfect! All major channels (ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX... others) are receivable and the images are clear without pixellation! A great outdoor antenna!

Cut to cord!!!!!
I finally decided to bail on cable. I bought this because of the great reviews. I tried it near the TV and a window. The was lots of pixilation. I realized my house had coax to all the TVs because of having cable. I put the antenna on the attic and hooked up the one of the coax drops. The picture was excellent on all my TVs!We're very happy with this antenna. It took a while to get the best placement, but it is worth the effort.
