Door Lock for Out-Swinging Doors, Home Security Latch Device, Childproof, Easy to Install (White)

This lock was added to another lock for my laundry room door, and it serves its purpose of providing that extra measure of security that I need, especially with an elderly parent at home. Very useful.

Easy to install (make sure you pay attention to the directions!).

The media could not be loaded. If your site is insulated, then this will not work for you. The catch for the lock will be sitting on the insulation strip around your frame and the placement of the screws will not be in the wood but in the rubber. Returning

Great for my out-swing door. I didn't install the optional screws yet; the glue pads are extremely strong. Be sure to attach it exactly where you want it---the glue pads cannot be moved once attached to the door or frame.

The media could not be loaded. I really wanted to love this lock. It will work until my 3 year old can push just A TINY bit harder & it just pops open. Thought maybe using screws instead of the adhesive would make it more secure but it doesn’t.

First, this is the best kind of flip lock or any lock for an open outward door, which is why I bought it. The heavy-duty flip locks for inward doors are wonderful. This was a challenge to install. I used longer screws that I had, had to call in the spackle to line the parts up better, two parts are for what???, and the door frame part should be metal. It's a bit of a digit exercise to open. Nearly everyone I know leaves this door unlocked all the time, yet it's the easiest entry into the home so now you know. I'm glad I installed it. REVISION: I figured out what the 2 extra parts are for. They fit together, then they need to be adhered where the flip lock OPENS and would lay flat. The lock fits over these small parts so it doesn't accidentally flip back into lock position. HOWEVER, there is almost no base at all to apply it to the door under the lock. I super glued it in place but don't know if it will hold as again, no real base to adhere. And, no instructions, which is ridiculous. Terrible design. Second revision: No the safety parts did not stay put so I had to sand the door area and do touch up paint. Don't bother with these parts. Good idea, bad execution on the design and needs to be re-worked, then it would be a winner.
