My Baba: (In English & Persian) (My Persian Family)

My 2 year old daughter really enjoys this book. I love that she can relate to the physical features of the characters of this book. This book is also very relatable and it reflects the things that my daughter and her Baba do together. It is her new favorite bed time book along with My Maman. I highly recommend this book!

Growing up as a 2nd Generation Iranian American in the 2000's wasn't easy; one of many the reasons was that there wasn't a lot of media talking about Middle Eastern culture in a positive way. This book talks about many positive traits Iranian men have, and the art style is modern while keeping some traditional aspects of Middle Eastern Art in it.

This book has good intent and can keep children engaged with relatable scenes. However there are grammatical errors starting from the title that reads, “Dad me” in Persian. I wanted to use this for our class and I was not able to.
