Bodybuilding for Beginners: A 12-Week Program to Build Muscle and Burn Fat : Hunt, Kyle, Layton, Charlie: desertcart.in: Books Review: This manual was very easy to follow, full of great information and illustrated. Workouts started out easy and progressed as we went. Excellent meal plans I used it to teach my 14yr old son how to lift. I have a few years of cross fit experience but very much a novice. Terminology was explained, grips and bad habits to watch for. Definitely recommend Review: The book has an excellent presentation with a good description of the exercises. However, what I found frustrating is that the workout plan includes circuits that require several machines. As a newbie at the gym, I feel uncomfortable reserving up to 4 machines for a circuit. Without the exercise plan, the rest of the content describing the exercises and the few pages on nutrition can be found on pretty much any bodybuilding blog for free.

There's not necessarily any new information in this book that isn't on the internet, but having it all in one place and spelled out very easily is incredibly valuable. I followed that full 12-week program which resulted in some lost weight, increased strength, and more muscle tone! More importantly I feel like it helped me develop a habit of working out that I intend to continue. Pros: - All exercises are described fully. - If an exercise is unable to be performed, several alternatives are mentioned. - It touches on many different aspects of working out. Eating healthy, which supplements are worth it, stretching, etc. - Hard to beat that price. Cons: - Why aren't the page numbers for the exercise included in the workout plan? You literally have the page numbers in the index of the book, it wouldn't have been hard to add them to the workout plan. Instead I have to flip back and forth, or write in the page number myself. - Wish it would've expanded more on the nutrition side.
