A keto Pizza Hit, yay!
One thing I miss on keto is always pizza. I’ve tried every which way to conjure up something that slightly resembles a much needed pizza. I’ve tried all the recipes, fat head, cauliflower base etc. They are ok for the first few mouthfuls, but then I get that eggy taste, a taste that makes me feel a bit pukey and then I chuck it away feeling bereft. After scrolling through Amazon keto products, I try not to eat UPF but occasionally I need a fix, I came across this Groovy Keto Pizza Base mix and decided to give it a go. Once it arrived and when I read on the back of the package you need 2 x eggs for one pizza and 4 x eggs for two pizzas my heart sank, I thought oh no I hope it’s not going to be eggy! I followed the instructions for one pizza which was pretty easy and it wasn’t as sticky as described on the package, as long as your hands are wet. I rolled it out with no problem and baked it as instructed for 10 mins. I put my topping on, only vegetarian for me and continued baking until nicely golden. It came out of the oven looking great, see pictures, only half as I couldn’t wait and forgot to take the picture before. Ok, so the taste was really good and I was very surprised. It had risen more than expected and did have that psyllium husk texture, making the topping sit on the top of the base rather than soaking in, but I was ok with that. It was quite bready and didn’t have an eggy taste. I thought it was really, really good and a good size, as you see I could only manage half. I definitely had my pizza hit for the first time ever on keto and when I ate the other half cold the next day it was gorgeous. It’s definitely value for money and ease of use and will be my go to pizza fix when I need one.

texture just isn't there
it's a no as a pizza base from me, however thin you roll it out, it's just not quite right. I couldn't bear to waste it though, given the price of it, so I used the rest up making a kind of thin/biscuity/cake by adding sweeteners, lemon juice and finally topped it with some sweetened cream cheese. Put it in the fridge and it served as something sweet to go with my coffee.

Inedible
The banana bread mix is delicious, put the pizza base mix revolting, The texture and taste are in no way anything like a real pizza base. Went straight into the bin

Easy to make, and very tasty... not totally zero Carbs, but low enough for one pizza. We made 2. I ate the other the following day. It has a kinda wholemeal like taste, that isn't over powering like normal wholemeal pizza bases are. Also foud the dough easy to work and shape. Cooked really nicely, not to crispy thin or doughy thick. Will definitely buy again.

Not great
If you're desperate for something resembling a pizza on Keto or a low carb diet, then this might be for you but personally, after trying it, i'd rather go without. You cant stretch it, or cook in a pizza oven and the taste is as bland as a bland thing. Sure you can roll it to look like a pizza base and bake it in a traditional oven and then add stuff to make it look like an actual pizza but the texture is all wrong. Its like a biscuit if thin or a cake if thicker. At least its edible. Bread products on Keto is hit and miss but Heylo has been my saviour. I bought two packets of this stuff. Used one. The other will remain in the cupboard until the apocalypse and even then, i think i'll snack on my own bodyparts before I use it.......other than that. Great product.

Good keto pizza base
Overall, it's a good pizza base, it is a bit difficult to spread thinly on baking paper because it is sticky otherwise no issues. I enjoyed it :)
