Gorgeous! Elegant! These are two words I definitely will use to describe this Mahjong set. The tiles are a turquoise color and have a classic game design. This premium set comes in a beautiful, organized storage box with dice and point pieces. This set is more pricey than an average set and that is because it's more beautiful and has more accessories that come with the tiles. Therefore, it really is a bargain for the price. The size and thickness of the tiles are average. The American Mahjong game takes some time to learn. Yet, once it is matered, it holds the promise of many fun nights of family and friends competition.

This set is exactly what I've been looking for. I play Japanese (Riichi) Mahjong and wanted a set of tiles with Arabic numbers to help teach others. Proper Japanese sets with Arabic numbers don't however, seem to exist. These tiles are 28mm high. matching the larger Japanese sets (which are either 26mm or 28mm). The etching seems quite deep, including the etching of the Arabic numbers) and the paint work is very good, with only tiny flaws. The tiles seem to have enough heft to them, weighing 15 grams, they feel good in the hand and stack nicely. The tiles are thick enough that they can stand without racks. The paintwork is interesting, being just black and red, so no green tiles for the bamboo set. The exception is the green dragon tile which is a striking light green colour. The box is nicely made and the accessories seem of reasonable quality. I particularly like the wind indicator. The set includes 8 joker tiles for American Mahjong as well as the usual flowers and seasons, so 152 tiles in all. I have the following three minor criticisms- 1. The description does not mention the size of the tiles. I knew they were 28mm tiles from reading the other reviews, but a player expecting Chinese size tiles will be in for a severe disappointment. 2. The tiles do not come in trays. For a 'luxury' set I would expect the tiles to come in four removable trays. 3. Some of the photos with the description are misleading. The first four photos showing the tiles in the box are accurate. There are however two photos of tiles showing completely different tile sets- without Arabic numbers and obviously of different design. This is just sloppy marketing. Obviously the set doesn't come with Japanese red fives. This can be remedied with stickers, a careful repaint job, or just doing without red fives (which are optional in Riichi anyway), other than that it's perfect for Japanese mahjong.

The tiles have a nice feel and clear ingraved images. Rule book could be abit clearer,but there are many resources to learn online. The inbox dividers felt abit flimsy. Foam isnt glued down super well. Will still enjoy playing

I do love the quality of the set and the box it came in but agree with another review that it would be nice to have a good handle. I may ad done myself. I don't know how to play yet but have been watching videos on playing the simpler form of the game. My only complaint is that I have 5 - #4 Wan tiles and 3 - #5 Wan tiles. I tried to contact the manufacturer to just see if they could send me another #5 tile. I live in the country and it's a bit of a drive to find a UPS store. They told me they have no spare parts so unfortunately I had to order a second set so I can swap the tiles, then return the original. Very inconvenient.

Very nice set. Good quality. At first I was disappointed in the small size of the tiles but after lifting the case I realized if they were bigger it would be harder to lift and carry.

This game is a gift that we ordered for a family member who has the smaller sized game tiles, however, we have not given it to them yet. The package was delivered to us, in a very prompt and timely manner, so we could check it out. We think for the price and how well it looks in a very sturdy case, we are extremely pleased with this mahjong set. Thank you Amazon for your service and quality product. We look forward to when we can try this set out!

The workmanship of the game set is good. Reasonable size and great to include the accessories like the dices, scoring chips and wind indicator. Hoping that the paint on the tiles will last.

I received the game and was immediately disappointed to notice after opening up all the tile packaging that the acrylic backing of one of the tiles was damaged during manufacture so now when we play Mah Jong all the players know which tile it is that their opponent has. Very disappointing for that kind of money and especially when it is supposed to be a Deluxe set. Also a small scratch on the outside of the box which I purposely bought so it could be displayed, the scratch is small but again, disappointing.
