Working and no fires (yet)
I was hesitant to buy based on the review of a buyer plugging one in and it immediately catching fire. The question: Risk Fire to save $15 off the Panasonic OEM or shell out a little extra? Since our phone system is several years old, I took the cheaper option on the belief that these cheaply manufactured, relative simple electrical products lack quality control. In other words, if you get a bad one, it's bad from the start. Otherwise, with no mechanical parts, if it works when you first plug it in, chances are it'll last as long as any OEM. I plugged it in - no fire. I left it plugged in for a while to make sure it didn't heat up. Then I tested it with my multi-meter and both voltage and amperage matched the Panasonic I compared it to. It's been plugged in a working now for over a month with no issues. Thus, I've decided the unit I received was inexpensive rather than cheap. If you're willing to risk the hassle of exchanging a bad unit (or 2) for a good one (a hassle Amazon makes relatively painless) save the money and buy this one. Otherwise shell out a few bucks for the genuine Panasonic. But chances are they were made on the same assembly line anyway...

but my bad for not testing both
My phone was not recharging, so I used a volt meter and found my phone was not getting any voltage. I assumed the transformer was the culprit. It turns out that this puts out 5.5v and then a diode in the base drops that down to 3 volts. It was the base that was my problem. Don't really understand why they split their circuitry that way, but my bad for not testing both. A new base solved the problem

I'm not a happy camper. I don't blame the seller
Bought 2 of these December 30th and received them the first of the new year. One of them has already s*** the bed. I'm not a happy camper. I don't blame the seller; I blame Panasonic for putting out such a piece of crap product. I bought a phone set with a base and 3 satellite phones and I have had to replace all the Adaptors once already so counting the originals and the replacements, I'm on round 3 now. Nice phones, but they should make good on these inferior adaptors. The seller sent the product I requested and in a prompt manner.UPDATE: Just purchased two more because as I said above, the replacements already failed. One of the new replacements was bad out of the box. This has to be the worst product Panasonic ever sold. These must be outsourced because I can't imagine Panasonic making something this terrible. When it failed, I thought maybe the batteries were bad, so I replaced them. When it still failed to charge the phone, I tried the phone on another cradle and I charged fine, so it was obviously the adaptor.

Cord not as long as original
Like another reviewer, I had to buy this because our new puppy has a thing for cords. This was for the handset in the bedroom and it's plugged into an outlet behind the bed because the closest outlet is controlled by the light-switch. I was surprised to find the cord about half the length of the original. Luckily I was able to swap out with the cord for another handset than didn't need the length.

A million thanks!
This seller was a lifesaver! My cat chewed the cord for every adapter (had 6) on my Panasonic. I was told by my Veterinarian this is because it sounds like "purring" to some cats. Bought a new Panasonic phone, it was hardwired, and I hated it. It's a throwaway if the cord gets damaged...you can't replace it. I purchased as many of these as I could and am now using my old phone again. Now I have many spares, and no worries.

I was concerned at first because while the picture looks exactly like the adaptor that stopped working which I am replacing
Works perfectly. I was concerned at first because while the picture looks exactly like the adaptor that stopped working which I am replacing, what I received looks slightly different. But it works perfectly and I can charge my phone again.

Repeat customer
I made three separate purchases. The first adaptor was needed because 1-out-of-5 devices was missing when I purchased the phones from a local retailer. The others replaced the ones my cat chewed. I am obviously a satisfied customer; howerer, I wish the cord was about a foot longer.

Replacement worked great!
Bought one and had considerable buzzing on the phone so I gave a poor review. Was contacted by seller and they sent me a new one promptly and it has worked great! No more buzzing. Can't figure out how to delete my previous review.......
