It's just not shooting without this bench.
First, I tried building my own shooting bench. Weighing in at 214 pounds, and costing $160, it was admittedly awesome. Nonetheless, I felt like something was missing; I bought this on a whim to see what it could do.The good:- Portable by one person: Not _easily_ portable, but portable. Fully assembled, I can lift it and carry it a hundred yards without too much trouble. Disassembled, my wife can move it ... a bit. More than enough, at any rate.- Pivoting table: I can spin and acquire a new target in under a second.- Pivoting seat: Easy to plop down and find a perfect, comfortable shooting position.- Stability: No perceptible wobble, perfectly sturdy even with heavy calibers (and heavy shooters).- Adjustability: Can be adjusted to sit level on mild slopes (maybe up to 5 degree slopes, I wouldn't feel safe using it on any steeper slope anyway)- Weather proof: I contacted customer support who confirmed that this model could be left outdoors in pretty much any weather. It's been left out in harsh winters and harsher summers, and is no worse for wear.- Customer service: Phenomenal. Responded to every question within hours.- Completely assembles/disassembles in about 10 minutes.- Padded, comfortable seat; take your time shooting, because you'll have no trouble sitting for hours.- Small lip around the table edge, prevents loose rounds from getting away.- Accessories: Comes with feet for a bench rest and some supports to help with cleaning. Was about to throw them out at first, but gave them a shot (pun) and have quickly learned to appreciate the usefulness. The bad:- You can't be infinitely light and infinitely sturdy - something has to give. This bench sacrifices portability for sturdiness, and I think it was a good trade.- No obvious place to store the accessories. I bought a $2 nylon bag, which works well.- Table surface is as large as can reasonably be expected (maybe a bit under 2x3 feet), but still quickly becomes crowded with shooting paraphernalia.- Made in ChinaConclusion:- Simple but really well thought out; shines in the details. So good, I'm buying a second. Very highly recommended.

Very well built and "STABLE" as it's name implies.
The Caldwell Stable Table is a very good portable shooting platform with plenty of adjust-ability for most anybody. From materials to fit and finish this shooting bench is good quality and will last a long time. I had a military duffel canvas bag to use for storing and transporting this bench. It goes together pretty quick and is a breeze to adjust for your needs. I use it for shooting rifle and crossbow and feel it was worth every penny of the price. It is so nice to be able to set this up when you are ready to get to shooting instead of trying to makeshift a temporary shooting platform with what you can scrounge up that may not be ideal for the best shooting. The Stable Table fixes that scenario, you only need to add the shooting bags or rest and dial the bench and rifle in and your good to go. Then break it down and store it away. I believe you could leave this bench assembled as long as you want outside and not have a problem with it. I would just want to protect the plastic table and seat from prolonged UV exposure, etc.Pull the trigger on this bench and you probably won't be sorry, that's for sure.

Wobbly - Not good for sighting a scope, unless you have a lot of time.
Solid built, goes together quick and easy. Heavy material used. BUT.... too much clearance in "joints".When assembled it is strong and secure, however when you sit on the seat the dimensions change. I used it hold a Caldwell Led Sled for sighting in several rifle scopes. The table top has a short tube that fits over the upright leg, this is secured with a turn-screw which put pressure on one side of the tube; this allows it to move and rock. I mount the led sled and rifle while standing and "roughly" line up the target. Now sit on the seat and the sighting goes "out the window". The seat puts pressure on the upright pole, which makes the support legs dig into the ground. Then the table top rocks as you lean on it. I was introducing new shooters to use a scope to line up the target. When I set it up, then got off the seat, the table top / led sled and scope all moved a couple of inches, so when the new shooter sat down the whole siting was out and had to be re-aligned. I'm looking over their shoulder lining it up, then as I let go, the whole alignment has gone.As a temporary table it is good for cleaning guns but nowhere secure enough to sight in a scope. The rifle is mounted in the led sled then as the "unit is slid around to get it lined up, the movement in the legs and table top make it very hard to set it in a position where several people could look down the scope and see the same alignment. It is nowhere near as useful as a concrete table; too much movement in the joints.

This rifle table is a must investment.
Shipped very fast; took 4 days to arrive at my home. The delivery guy asked me if I needed a dolly. I asked why? Is this not the correct item I purchased? Boy!!! It was the correct item, and light it is NOT! This thing weighs as much as a gym set. So if you get this rifle table you better have a gym membership. The instructions for assembling were easy. Only thing it did not instruct/explain was the seat. But it was self explanatory. There are two washers and two locking nuts for the mounting of the seat. Now the allen wrench to go with the allen bolts for the nylon table top; the wrench did not fit. Good thing I have an allen wrench set with my tool box.Now the assembly of the rifle table as a whole. It went up in 5 mins. Durability is a 5 star. This thing will out last your childrens, children's, children's, children's....okay you get my point. This thing is built and solid like a tank.Quality: I give it a 5 star. This thing is worth the money. 2 years ago this thing used to cost around $300.00 dollars. I was leary back then to spend that much money. But now that I took the plunge, I am glad I did. It was worth every penny. If your going to take the plunge and spend the money, buy the bag too. You'll be glad you did; otherwise you'll be making a few trips back and forth to assemble it at your shooting site.
