Works well and great value
I make table tops out of stump wood and I go through a lot of these surfacing bits to flatten my pieces. When I saw this bit, I liked the idea but was concerned about vibration and getting a smooth cut. Considering Amazon's great return policy, I tried one with the 1/2 in shank. I am very pleased. I have platened an old growth piece of redwood and am finishing a large walnut stump (about 39 in diameter and end grain) which is pictured. There is a very small amount of cupping that easily sanded out. This works out to about $4.50 per pair of cutting edges. This bit might outlast my DeWalt router.

Good concept, poor implementation
Four sided replaceable carbide bits sounded like a really good option, but the implementation is poor. The carbide bits self-center, BUT they don't self-level / align. The insert mounts to the correct spot but nothing to keeps the edge of each insert level with the other. What you end up with is a saw-toothed bottom instead of flush.Sure you can spend 20 minutes fiddling with them to get them perfectly true to each other, but who wants to waste that kind of time?

Replaceable 12mm Dual Square Tungsten Carbide Cutters on 1/2" Shank 1" Diam. Surfacing Router Bit
I love woodworking and a router is an important tool to do many fancy and simple wood shaping tasks for me. This 1 inch diameter bit can do surfacing or be plunged. This 1/2 inch shanked bit uses rotatable and replaceable Tungsten Carbide (TC) cutters. The bit uses 2 and come with 4, a big plus! With rotation this is similar to getting 4 bits for the price of one. Also, 12mm TC cutters are readily available from this seller and others. There is a Torx screwdriver with the 2 hardened Torx Head screws to mount the cutters to the bit.I found that one bit side had a tiny amount of flash from the machining process that did not allow the cutter to seat properly and flush to the bit. I was able to use a needle file to clean up the flash bit as P.3 shows. That would drop a half star but since there are no halves, I'll default to 5.Each cutter also has 0,1,2,or 3 dots laser etched at a corner to assist with the rotation of the cutters in sequence. They barely show in P.2 on the cutter nearest the bit shank. I loved that!I Recommend this ROOCBIT Store CNC Spoilboard Surfacing Router Bit, 1 Inch Cutting Dia 1/2 Inch Shank Cleaning Bottom Flattening Groove Router Bit Woodworking Milling Cutter Tools with 4 PCS Replaceable Blade. Great value with the 2 spare TC cutters!I hope you’ve found the information and my review helpful.

Hefty
This is a surfacing bit for CNC routers. The bit has a ¼” shank. It has two 4-sided 1/2” blades that can be rotated so that you actually get 4 cutting surfaces with the kit. Also included in the box is a screwdriver for changing the blades. The bit comes with a plastic storage case. This bit did a great job of surfacing the spoilboard for my 3018 CNC. The bit fit well, and the blades produced a good flat surface for my MDF spoilboard. It’s great that replacement blades are also available for this bit, so that when the cutting surfaces do wear out, I only need to replace them, and not the entire bit. The blades are marked with dots to help you keep track of rotation. Overall, this is a great choice for a surfacing bit.

Not completely satisfied.
I waited a long time to receive these items, and they supplied it without the bolts. The item looks ok, but does not look like the picture, there is no logo on the shaft which makes be wonder if they are genuine. I know have to find the bolts.
