I should have returned it
The replacement impeller failed after 1.5 year. It turns out the impeller I received was actually defective. I remembered wondering why the replacement impeller didn't spin freely - I honestly didn't know how it was supposed to spin, I figured it was new and it did work but I know why it died prematurely because the bearing was never good to begin with. In retrospect I should have called Aquascape to find out how tight it was supposed turn.If you can't turn the fins using just 1 finger, there is a chance something is wrong with it. Beware.
